FHA edoc packages over 200+ pages now
1 full ream of paper for FHA loans now, plus you need to print out the appraisal too. Just giving everyone something to think about when offered 15 dollar or lower edoc fee.
Paper cost alone can run you between 5-8 dollars.

I just did a FHA refi on Friday and it was 200+ for one copy. I did not have the appraisal in my package but was still a huge package. Took about 1.5 hours to go through. No questions about the loan either.

Check to see if the borrower copies are in there too. A few places do it that way. Annoying if they don't warn you. (and you don't have time to check) 15$ still ain't enough though!!!

I would think depending on the state the docs may vary in size (junk docs) and what legal wants from each state. I know we all have the basic docs, but I know of 10 forms just for NJ alone.

State specific docs
We have a couple here in Cali that amuse me. One basically says "It won't be a hardship to make the 1st payment". OK, what about the 2nd or 3rd, etc? They don't matter? Also one that basically says- We'll tell on you if you don't make your payments. I figure, someone sued someone-somewhere, so it's cover our tush time...

Re: State specific docs
If you read that form, what it is stating that in case their first payment is in less than 30 days from funding (lenders like to give the Borrower at least 30 day before their first payment is due), this will not be a financial hardship. At lot of lenders will allow funding from 5-7 days into the month before they are required to redraw the loan documents. If this is the case the borrower may have extra payments they may need to make, therefore leaving them short when their first payment comes due.

Did one for 173 pages. I thought the borrower's copies were included, till I checked and found it was FHA. Now I try to remember to ask if it's FHA.

This is the biggest bunch of baloney.
There's no way in He** I'd stand for printing that many pages times 2 for whatever fee has been negotiated.
Either they ante up another $25 or the deal's off.
Most likely this is some SS wanting tripple copies of this, that and the other.
Doubt it's a Title Company that wants all that stuff..at least that's been my expierence.
Simply put, FHA loan packages are just not that big unless somebody is pumping way too much air into the balloon.

I'm in Fla. Every 1st mtg. closing I get is 100 pages Lender and Title Co. paperwork. Times 2 = 200 pages per closing. 2 years ago max was 65 pages x 2. Dang....
