Business

How is the business been for all you notaries out there? it has really been slow here in Florida. I did not do not even one closing yet this month and none last month. I want to know if its just me or the business as a whole.

Let me know.

Well, I think everyone is sitting home today . . .

The whole nation is slow, and it's front page news. They yanked the subprime loans off the market, so there goes 50% of the work. Mortage companies are dropping like flies, so SS are shutting down, and when that happens they don't tend to pay their outstanding debts (to the notarites), title companies are getting less work, so they are reducing what they pay to the SS, who are generoulsy passing the savings onto the notaries, ("It's slow, so we are paying you less"Wink and lots of out-of-work LO are now swelling the ranks of idle signing agents becuase various notary classes are telling them that they can make $100,000 per year in their spare time, "perfect for stay-home moms".

I never looked at Notary Rotary these past few years beause I was so busy. Now I am really getting to know people. Be sure to check out the politics and leisure forums since the phone isn't ringing. Smile

Welcome to the Titanic. Wink

Re: Business - no, it's just you. The housing market is

booming, loans can't be written fast enough, there's more cheap money than ever before, and we're all so busy, we're turning business away. Heck, the Feds just lowered the rates again!

Just kidding.

Please! Not the "puppy eyes". My eldest daughter used to pull that one on us when she was young.

<post-piddle puppy eyes> *plus* pitiful 'sorry' whine.

AND a guilty pill for you for that unnecessary rolled-up-newspaper thing!

Never ever use a rolled up newspaper. (I am sure you wouldn't Susan)
I cringe when I hear of someone using a rolled up newspaper on any animal.
I once had an argument with my mother about that.

You are so right. When my step father rolled one up and

raised his huge arm over my poor little shaking puppy, I screamed and grabbed up my puppy and ran away to the basement to hide us. Never did like that man.

I have not been busy since December, 2006. I got a call today to do a closing on Monday.
This tells me that the rush is over. Docs are being sent to the borrower or overnight to notary. Hang in for the long haul.

For the most part, it's tanked, folks. Boom's over. If they wanted to refi, they already have...that's what made the Boom. Now, they are probably either upside down or not credit-worthy enough for the tightened regs & will have a hard time getting out of that ARM. It's gonna be a long ride outta this valley. Just hoping it's not a box canyon.

I had a couple of offers today but the fees were so low for the round trip that I turned them down. One company wanted me to travel 45mi round trip to do a spanish speaking only client on Saturday for 65.00. I told them to keep looking because I'm sure someone will be desperate enough to take the assignment. Me, Nah!!!!
