Check out NotaryBids

A couple of weeks back I received an email from a company called NotaryBids.com This is a website that sends notary signing work to you. At first I was skeptical because I wasn't sure if this was on the up an up. I went ahead and signed up, there is a catch; there is a one-time fee of $9.95 to join. Well low and behold I recieved my first notary signing assignment today which is a refinance mortgage loan. The neat thing about this website is that you get to set your price for how much you are asking for in price. The minimum is $65 and max is $95 I suggest notaries check it out for yourself.

Sincerely

Yes but they get your credit card on file and charge you $9.95 for each job that you accept. Also you can do the $49.95 fee if you wish. Personally, I don't want to pay $9.95 to get a less than $100.00 job.

Those fees are totally unacceptable!

No way I am paying $9.95 for every closing they give me and the max is $95. That mean that the original poster is one of those notaries that do closings for $85. Are they email docs?

I got the same email several times. I emailed 'em back and grilled 'em. I did get a response. While I do have a problem with my credit card info in their files, they explained that for every 'new' company you get business from, they charge the $9.95. You have the freedom to negotiate just like any bidding process. If you get more business from that same company, they don't charge anything. Of course, the bidding process lowers the fee.

This is the kind of activity that will run the SA business

into the ground. I can't imagine where in this country a fee of $95 and DOWN (sometimes with $9.95 sometimes deducted) would be considered reasonable. Tell me that's NOT with e-docs.

And then to hear that one who has exhibited behavior abusive of notaries (JMHO) is running it. It's just too much.

These are the companies that need to be put out of business so that the work will go to the good companies who pay fairly and respect SAs. If you work within this system (NotaryBids), you are part of the problem of the downward spiraling of SA fees, not part of the solution.

Sorry to offend, but I think the truth about this needs to be spoken plainly enough for ALL to understand.

AMEN ME/NJ

I try hard not to post negative comments BUT this is just too much. Chris, do you sit up nights finding ways to survive at the financial expense of others? You spent weeks on this very website trying to redeem yourself and your reputation and then you come up with the same scheme worded differently? Unreal

Did you bother to actually read this thread?

There's a reason why EVERY SINGLE RESPONSE was negative. Aside from the ripoff of having to pay him for work, there's also the not so insignificant fact that this guy has already screwed over numerous other notaries with his previous company, which he'll undoubtedly do again with this company.

If you're really this lacking in common sense, being self employed isn't a good idea. Your business sense will end up driving you directly into the welfare office.
