Doing My First Signing @ a Detention Facility
Help! I've got a job at a detention facility in a few hours (last minute kind of thing) to get a POA signed and I have no idea how to go about this... I've been doing mostly home refi's for the past 3 years and have never signed a detainee before.
Any steps? Most likely he won't have a driver's license on him... what would I use as an acceptable ID?
Any help would be so greatly appreciated! Thanks!

One time I went to a detention facility . . .
They wanted to see my original Notary cerfificate. They would not accept a fax from my kids at home. I had to go home and get it. I grabbed my original everything while I was at it. I think it was the policy at that particular facility, once they had it on file, I could go back again. I would take that if I were you, just in case.

If it's the twin towers they will require you to stamp a piece of paper, which really is illegal for us to do, but they won't let you notarize anything till you do. You can get the paper back and tear it up though.

I keep my orginal notarial certificate in my lockbox, along with the journal and stamp.
