Downward spiral of our workload
Folks, I'm afraid it's going to get worse before it gets better, and that's quite a scary thing for those of us who are full-timers at this. I had a woman contact me yesterday who is a "new" notary and wanted to know which websites to sign up with. I felt bad discouraging her, yet on the other hand, she had no idea what was going on in the mortgage/real estate world. I'm hearing horror stories of notaries and people at title companies who are filing bankruptcy and being foreclosed upon. I am trying my darndest to break into new avenues of business without getting caught up in the "work at home" business scams. Anybody else going into other avenues? And if so, could you please PM me with your ideas/thoughts? I hate to see our industry fall by the wayside, but it's not a pretty picture out there. By this time of the month, I should have done at least 20 closings. I've done ONE and I am the only mobile agent in my area. I hope we can all stay afloat during these VERY trying times. PJM/MI

I got these companies off Clark Howard's website.

my daughter is doing this to stay home with her son. I helped her to find a real company. She makes $9 dollars an hour and is an employee. But most companies hire you as an Independent Contractor.
These jobs are like when you are watching TV and you call an 800 number to order the product. Or customer service for many different companies.
You have to have a dedicated analog phone line installed, a corded phone, phone headset. Your computer has to meet specific guidlines, like Anti-virus software, Operating system and more.

Doing this full time should end for me by Oct 1st. I have 5 interviews for Corporate gigs in the next week. While my wife is on Family Leave she maybe able to cover a few appointments.
Thats the big question when companies call, What will you do if business picks up again... LOL not for a few years or the housing values pick up again.
It was good while it lasted and now it will be some extra money if I can fit it in.
