Re: Notary Direct
I've never gotten a package that large nor a price that low from them, and they've never asked for fax backs.

Re: I will be more than happy to foward
I'm not doubting you - all I can speak to is my own experience.
I've been working from them for the past few months, and all of the packages I've received are about 60 pages. Half are docs to borrower (or to me) overnight, the other half are edocs. They always pay more for edocs, and I'm familiar enough with the package now that I can take the borrower through it quickly. They don't pay top dollar, but they pay fairly for the amount of work I have to do and the distance I have to travel. They know what my limits are, and will pay more if the job is outside my base area.
All status reports are done on their website - I have never been asked to fax anything back.
Your mileage may vary; it could be a regional thing. All I can tell you for sure is that I've never had a problem with Notary Direct.

I understand that smaller packages can be signed in less time, but I have always been of the opinion that if I am going to block off time to do a signing I should get my standard fee. Even though there are less pages to sign in a smaller package everything else involved with the signing is basically the same. Just as when the package is larger than normal I don't call and request more money, when the the package is smaller I don't accept less. I figure it all will even out. JMO

I just completed a closing for ND for $xx and the package was 148 pages, edocs! The closing was only 15 minutes away. No fax backs though... never had fax backs from them.

They called me when I was on my way home from a closing. I told them my fee ans they accepted. And it was not $60. I almost s**t when I downloaded the pkg...160 pages. It was a Lending tree loan. Are all of their loan pkgs that big? Yes there were 37 pages of fax backs. The borrowers were very nice. even though it took almost 1 hr to sign. The Notary Direct staff that i delt with were very nice.

Re: Sorry...enter button got stuck
I've been working for Notary Direct for quite a while and they always met my fees. However, lately because of slow market business they offer $60 overnight and $85 for e-docs. Their packages not always small because they work with different banks, titles and morgage companies. I used to have loans where 20 signatures I notarized. I feel very appreciative toward them, but I can't accept $$ for my work. Everything goes up but our work, for some reason, goes down. Are you sure that you should've sent back 37 pages? It might be for middle company but not for you. They have a very organized system.

Re: Sorry...enter button got stuck
Figured Dennis would do it. They came back to me at xxx and I still refused. was a matter of principle. I know it is business but would be nice if they were honest up front. Cause you guys are right, the one I did for them 5 months ago in m town was a small package with no faxbacks. Straight forward refinance. Price paid made sense. This price didnt even with the house less than half mile away. And Dennis I cant believe you did it for the price you did. I talked to another 2 notaries and warned them so they could price according and they said they called them to jew them down after quoting their rate and their rate wasnt too high.

How do you know what price Dennis did it for? He said it wasn't $60, and he quoted his fee and they accepted it. He didn't state what his fee was, only that it wasn't $60

Sylivia you are absolutley correct
I did not see his agreement nor was in on the conversation. Based on my conversation with them and quoting a price of 150.00 after seeing the new terms and in discussion with 2 other notaries quoting a price of 125.00 and then them being called back and trying to get them to take 100.00. My educated guess would be that the rate that the loan was done for was equal to or under 100.00.
With all this, it also was interesting to know that they called an out of state notary to come into indiana ( which is illegal because you must be a resident in the state of Indiana to have your commission unlike kentucky) and I do have proof of that. Thank goodness for PM and print button.

Re: Sylivia you are absolutley correct
Scott After calling around several signing agents and realizing no-one was going to take the low fee it is possible they agreed to a fee with Dennis that they had rejected with other signing agents.

What are you trying to say?
So what are you trying to say? I hope you are primarly employed or reside in Kentucky. You know, you do have to primarly work or live in a KY county in order to legally obtain a KY notary commission.

Re: What are you trying to say?
not in the state of Kentucky. Here is the link http://sos.ky.gov/adminservices/notaries/atlarge/.. I am a non resident but own property in Kentucky so I am commissioned as State at Large.... Requirement for Indiana http://www.in.gov/sos/business/notary/apply.html plus pay the $300.00 to sit through 2 days of classes to get your TPL before doing signings. Indiana requires you to be a legal resident unlike Kentucky.

Re: What are you trying to say?
Everyone is State-At-Large unless you specifically apply for Special Commission. I personally do not care if you have a KY commission or not. I am sure it would not be an issue if you were a KY landowner. But it does read that you must be primarly employed or a resident of Kentucky.
From the website:
What are the qualifications for a notary public? A notary public must be eighteen (18) years of age, a resident of the county from which she/he makes application or be principally employed in the county from which he/she makes the application, of good moral character and capable of discharging the duties imposed upon her/him by law.

with the exception to landowner...
That was my in. I do not have to employed since I own property. Now one notary here used to work for a title company that had an office there. He no longer works for the title company but he has maintained his Kentucky commission. That isnt correct.

A private message you receive on this board isn't proof of anything.
It sure seems like you're sticking your nose in where it doesn't belong, not to mention wasting a lot of your time. Calling other notaries to warn them? Printing out private messages? Worrying about what Dennis did or didn't charge them? Why do you care? They called you, you turned em down, why you're giving it any thought or wasting any time beyond that is a mystery. It's not like notaries doing signings for ridiculously low fees is anything new.

Cali, I agree with you on this one. If I turn down a deal that's it, I'm done with it & going on to the next one... the way I did NOT do it for 62.50...it was twice that. Scott has a job...he is a fireman, This IS my job. I am available all hours of the day to close loans. At the right price.

"jew" them down??!
Sorry, but I can't let this one pass. I have no doubt this poster meant no harm by this; even if he did, he has a right to speak how he chooses. I'm exercising my right to say I find it offensive (and no, I'm not Jewish). I'm not offended by the poster; I'm offended by the sterotyping usage of this word as a verb.

That may be a corruption of the original saying, but I wouldn't use it. The term unflatteringly references the perceived financial prowess of Jews.

.. but the phrase used by the original poster is anti-Semitic and offensive. I think an apology is in order.
