High Speed Internet - pay less, get more

Wow, this month was slow. Do I cut expenses or get a 9-5? hmmm Thinking along these lines, I fired the cleaning lady and canceled my wine club membership. OK, that should help (snif, snif) and why am I paying so much for HS internet?

So I call HS internet company and ask if they have any other (lower cost) options. Yep, I can upgrade (twice as fast) and the promotional price is half of what I'm currently paying. It never hurts to ask!

Hope your new rate is for a good long time. I only have a choice of Comcast here and they always give you a teaser rate for 4 or 6 months and then zap you for a higher rate. Sorry you had to cancel your wine membership!

I did the same

Got Comcast cable tv, high speed internet plus phone service (not cellular) for $99 for 1 year.
I will be saving $200/month

Yuck - do people really drink those wines that come in a box. Not bad for cooking, but for drinking??? :shudder:

All wines give me a headache so I don't buy any.

Could be the sulfites.

I miss the good German wines I used to buy. The stores around here don't seem to store them right which doesn't do the wines any good.

Depends on the box

I found that Franza's Chardonary is as good as and better than a great many bottled wines except for the very most expensive. Costs about $11 a box (5 litres) and is better than most $11 a bottle Chardonaries. Their Merlot is very drinkable too. Now there are a couple of other box brands that won't even make good vinegar so if that is your only experience with box wines, suggest you try the brand I drink.

Dorothy
I hate Chardonnay. I love the sweeter wines. German Auslese's and up.
Although I do have a small glass of Sandeman's port or Harveys Bristol cream occasionally.

Prefer a Trockenbeerenauslese, to a Sauterne. Bought a couple of bottles for my godchildrens christening.
It is very sweet.

Have to see if I can locate that one. I do like the Rheingau wines.
Problem I find locally though is they don't know how to store the wines!

Never cook with what you can't drink.

A wonderful Chardonay $1.95 - I was buying it by the case - gained 6 pounds LOL. I guess I should be thankful it sold out.

Re: TJ's had a winner last month

They also had a wonderful Pinot Grigio...I think it was called Pinot Luna or Grigio Luna. And it wasn't $1.95 here in Michigan! But at $4 or $5 a bottle, it was a real treat.
