Just venting

I had a background check completed by Lexis Nexis about 2 -3 weeks ago. I have faxed this to Transunion but they will not accept this one they have to do there own. This is their policy!!! is what they tell me. I would think if we had one done then we are serious and I sent it to them so I was not hiding anything. If we had one done why don't they just accept it and move on. It is dated so they know it was a current background check.

Is there one that is more accepted that I should do?

No, what do they want? Last time I checked TU was only paying $46 so I refused to work with them on that alone. Lexis Nexis is accepted by almost all (right now)

As I understand it, Transunion is now part of ILS/GAC = Fiserv. Wasn't it ILS demanding that we have the "NNA" background check which just happens to be the Lexis Nexis check?

Sometimes you just go ???????????????

Transunion

When I signed up with them I believe they said there was a $20 fee for the background check that was to be taken out of my first check, and I also signed up for direct deposit. I called and told them I already had a background check and they said they needed to have their own. I signed up with them anyway even though I was annoyed by the idea. Funny thing is I've done many signings for them and they never did the background check and never took out the fee. I think they want to just make sure you agree to it. Who Knows?

Re: background checks

How does the background check typically work? When you provide the results to a company, is there a way for that company to contact Lexis/Nexis or whoever and verify that it's authentic*? If not, it seems like anyone could type up a form that's supposedly from a background check company, or edit out any bad things that turned up. In that case, I can certainly see why they would want their own, although I believe they should pay for it as well.

* If not, new opportunity for Certified Background Check Certifiers in those states which allow copy certifications! Wink
