M. David Spear owes me money and will not respond to to my emails, faxes, or letters. When reached by phone he gives me the same old routine. The check was mailed yesterday, I will check into it, blah, blah. I am considering what action to take against this non-payer.

Call the Lender, file a complaint with the Sec. of State - Notary Director, which is what I did to get paid. Also, check and see if he's incorporated,I can't remember if he is. Notify our State Corp.. Why people still get taken in by him is a mystery to me. Another local notary sings his praises about how wonderful he is and how he always pays her. Go figure! Me and the rest of the Notaries in Va. have had to go after him

David Spear duped me into two signing by have the title company call me. I thought I was working with the title company. (Patriot Title, in MD) After 45 days I called the title company for payment and was told the M. David Spear was responsible.

I think the only reason I got paid is because I live in VA. and I told him I was going to pay him a visit to Richmond with my 6 foot 2 inch 240 lb. husband that works for the Department of Justice....I threw all of the key words in prior conversations we had, he got the message real quick......................

I have never dealt with him directly. A gal named Debbie has always contacted me. Now the 800 number is disconnected. I think she got stiffed as well. I have already spoken with the office of the Notary Director and Patriot Title. The title company is no longer dealing with him. He owes them money! He responded to an e-mail of mine right before Labor Day and told me my check would be mailed that Tuesday. It's now Sept. 18 and no check, no response to subsequent e-mails and no returned phone calls. I'm not giving up on this one, he owes me for 5 closings. I will never again do a closing for an unfamiliar signing agency without first checking this forum.

I understand that David Spear closed his business .. he owes me for four signings. Called the title companies and they have paid David for the closings. Not sure what my next step is any ideas ??
