More ridiculous fees
Got this from Signing Carolina:
Generally our fees are based upon the following: $50 for overnight loan pkg, single loan $75 for overnight loan pkg, two loans $75/$70 for email loan pkg, single loan $110 for email loan pkg, two loans ($35 extra for edocs) The following fees are added to the bases quoted above: $15 extra for purchases, no recording (only if meeting with buyer and seller both) $50 extra for recording fee on purchases $1 per mile extra for trip fees beyond 30 mi radius one-way
If you have a fee schedule, we will be glad to look at it. Please forward it to us.

Ya' know what bugs me the most about all companies & their idea of 'fees'? (Besides the 'not enough') The completely arbitrary 'mileage' factor. 30 miles in Nebraska is a whole lot different than 30 miles in Chicago. It isn't 'mileage'; it's time! And the possibility of a whole lot of other travel factors.

About mileage
Were I live, there are mountians. The edge of my territory is the bottom of the grade. And they call me, "but it's only a extra few miles away". I'm sorry, but I am not going to destroy my car going up and down that hill every day". On the map, the grade is short and pretty straight. You can't see the incline.

Re: About mileage
I remember companies that used to call me to go to Melbourne Beach, and they would say it is only 8 miles away. Problem is there is a body of water inbetween - the Indian River, and the mileage was zip code to zip code.

Sylvia, I can just see you with your inner tube and flippers, standing on the shore pouring water out of your briefcase...this package DOES have flood insurance, doesn't it?
I always have to laugh when schedulers try to 'convince' you that "it's only 10 miles from you" or some such nonsense. They have no clue that there may be 1) no freeways between point A and point B, or 2) that there may be mountains (or lakes) in the way, or that you are 3) fighting rush hour traffic making the commute longer, or 4) it might be construction season taking you way out of your way and making the 10 mile commute 20 miles.

IMHO, a truly professional NSA should be able .....
to walk on water or fly like an eagle if necessary to get the job done on schedule and within budget, no matter how unrealistic the schedule or budget happens to be. Yeah, right!!!!!

My bad. If you have that kind of ability, why don't you...
try for world peace. If you can't handle that, at least get prime back to 4 or 5 % Think that would be a big help

Re: About mileage
But the map shows you are ONLY 16 miles from the signing????Right ,as the crow flies, they don't realize between here and there is usually about an hour on twisting turning non-graded roads

Re: About mileage
They don't seem to think about traffic either. I'm 15 miles from downtown L.A. Depending on where and when, 15 miles can take an hour or two!
