Notary fees in NJ?

I just ran across this online today - the fees seem strange to me. Any NJ agents have some insight?

Special Notification: Assembly Bill 2506 passed both houses of the legislature and was signed into law on July 1, by the Governor. Section 48 of PL2002, c34 provides for Notary Fees. Under the new legislation which is effective 7/1/02, the fee for acknowledging for a grantor is $15. The fee for all acknowledgments for a mortgage closing is $25.00. Agents should consult their underwriters for further details. For additional information on the legislation, visit www.njleg.state.nj.us.

I have been aware of this for quite some time. My invoices to my clients always include a $25 notary fee for "real estate finance documents".

This is perfectally allowable, and in addition, if you are adding up $2.50 for each notarization, and the fee is exceeding $25.00, you are not complaint with this law.
