OT Bad night last night - (long)
On my way home from work tonight I stopped at the gas station to get my car washed. I ran inside to pay for it and there was a young girl (about 18 or 19) at the counter, she told me to go ahead of her since she just wanted to get some water in her cup.
I paid and then followed her out of the store, watched as she walked down the driveway and started to cross the street, I turned to open my car door and hear a horrendous noise, turned to see her fly off the hood of a car, her drink flying in the opposite direction and her shoe flying in another. I grabbed my phone and called 911 - oh my goodness the blood running down the street - Get An Amublance here NOW!!!!
I didn't get close enough to her to see her headwound, as there were others helping her and I was on the telephone with the paramedic... she was breathing but not responsive. Her S/O was yelling, "baby" Baby" "Oh no Baby" , while holding her 6 or 7 month old baby in his arms.
The ambulance got there fairly quicky, thank God.
I walked back to my car and the driver who hit her was leaning on it. Poor man was really shaken. He had just made a left turn and she walked right out in front of him. It's a sad thing for all involved. I just pray that she is going to make it.
When I left, I drove through the car wash just to calm down before driving home. I had just reveived my car magnets from PAW last week - totally love them- and you can see where this is going. I was so shaken up that I forgot to take the magnet off my car. Now it's gone. I went back this morning to see if they heard anything about the girl's condition (they hadn't) and to see if I could find my magnet. No such luck. So, I'll be ordering another one right away.
