Right to Cancel
I did a search under right to cancel and too many messages came up, and I couldn't find any opinions on what your positions were when a signing is completed, and the borrower cancels. In theory, we still would get paid, we did the job, and deserve to be paid. But in practice, how do you all handle when a borrower cancels a loan and I havn't seen payment yet?

Yes, we did our job.
We got the docs, drove to the house, sat there while they signed, helped them understand, sat thre while they got on the phone, took the docs to Fed Ex on time, and emailed the tracking number.
In my opinion, usually when cancels, it's becuase someone did not really give them the loan the borrower expected, so when they called in the morning to find out why some of the numbers were different then quoted, they get the old, "Yes, but I DID tell you that, you just don't remember".
That is not our fault. We did our job. Someone else didn't do theirs. If we don't get paid for cancellations, then how are we supposed to remain impartial at the signing?

I had the same situation. I didn’t get paid for the job in a timely manner so I called AMERICAN DOC SERVICE and they said the loan was canceled so I wasn’t going to be paid. I told them I did my part/job and I need to be paid for MY services. They finally said they would pay me half of my fee, its not right, but at least I got something.
