Strange Call - ServiceLink

I got a call last night at 10:30 pm. They wanted a loan signed that night. Edocs + a one hour drive to get to the borrowers home.

The guy tells me he will gladly pay me extra to make this happen.

I asked if the docs were date sensitive for the 25th.... yes, they are.

Well then, unless you can pick me up by fighter jet with Mach capability, I don't think it's very possible for me to even get to the borrowers house in this last hour and a half of the 25th.

WTF?

What? You mean you don't have wireless printing capability on your helicopter to accommodate these urgent eom signings? j/k & LOL

I hope the newbies read this.

And what if the edocs are late? Or what if they come with some goofy incription and you can't open them? And what if the borrowers start reading every word for 2 hours? And what if they have a question and they can't get a hold of their loan officer?

One time I got a call 2:00 p.m. in Ventura for a job for a job North of me (Santa Barbara). Okay. But here's the catch: can I "swing by" Manhatten Beach to pick up the docs? That's three hours each way south on a weekend, bumper to bumper on a work day, and it's right before rush hour.

How much would I charge for that? I said you could pay me a million dollars, it could not be done. I would need a helicopter. I suppose now they could have faxed me the whole stack, but I didn't think of that at the time. I was new.

Re: I hope the newbies read this.

Hey ... we had to reject one last week ... said we needed docs by 0900 PST --- we had a three hour trip to be there at 1500 PST ... we also had a 1900 PST back home so ... docs had to be on time ... scheduler confirmed day before ... next morning 0930 PST ... "oh, there's a problem, docs won't be ready until 1230 PST" ... lender says "they can just reschedule later" ... wrong! They apparently thought that they were our ONLY CLIENT ... we told them the 1900 PST had docs to us 24 hours in advance (TRUE ... thank you lenders first choice) ... so, guess who we serviced?
