UPDATE on circuit city ripping me off

My credit card company refused to let circit city get away with the 15% restocking fee and also that they kept closer to 38% not 15%. They refused to allow circuit city to collect.

JMO: BUT NEVER, NEVER SHOP THERE... jmo..........

Circuit city...I cant believe they are still in business. I drive past them over here by Potomac Mills and their parking lot is 95% empty. I think the employees park in the front to make it seem like customers are there. The few times I walked in there it was dead and employees just playing around. I shop at Best buy. I can never find parking over there. Best buy> circuit city anyday.

I bought a Hard drive from them that had a $10.00 rebate.I know, big deal but what the heck, save where you can. I get the check, deposit it and it bounces...I get charged for that.I call their customer service and explain. All kinds of apologies, but never received the check.Called numerous times, same run around.Never got the check.I gave up.
A year later my daughter sees an ad for a digital camera they have on sale.I try to convince her not to buy from these crooks, but she has to have it. While she's shopping, I'm making some "modifications"to their display cameras, 14 bucks worth at least, I figure.I'm laughing all the way home.Hate to be that way, but well, they deserved it.

Re: Best Buy has a restocking fee too

I wouldn't shop at either one anymore. They both tend to carry outdated electronics and pass them off as brand new, charging more for them then the newer models carried elsewhere online. For anything over $20 I'd rather order it from an out-of-state website...you might have to pay shipping, but you don't have to pay sales tax and you'll probably save a fortune (especially with bigger ticket items like new printers and digital cameras, computers, etc.). I used to shop at Best Buy occasionally, but after my last experience with them I'm all done. Now everything comes from either Sam's Club or online shopping...I love Pricegrabber.com and similar websites.
