Update on DocuservUSA
Got a call from Bret last night. He told me they were out about $75,000 and the owner was taking out a new mortgage to pay his payroll and notaries. He assured me that they were trying to pay people and said he would be sending me $50 dollars as a start and will be trying to pay me off. He also did say that any future signings will be paid on time and as agreed.
For now I will accept them paying me in increments and may take a job or two because they are showing intent.
I just figured I would post my progress with them and intend to post more as it comes available. I think we all should post our progress and maybe not be quick to bash the ones that are trying to dig themselves out. If we refuse to work with them then we may be cutting our noses off despite our face. Obviously there are the SS that have always had a payment problem due to poor management. Please do continue to bash them.
Tell me what you think.

Well, I'd like to believe, but.... Too many falling down now for whatever reason--& taking money we've earned with them. I can't see your point in that refusing to work with 'em can/may/will contribute to their demise. No....they'll call somebody else...which may let them survive & spread the hits around. SOX has been doing that for years. What it boils down to is simply this: They call you, you go, job completed, they get paid, you get paid. If they can't meet current obligations with current income, they are working on borrowed money--your money! Until the pipeline dwindles and the last guy gets drips or nothing at all.

Delay, delay,delay, shut the door.
What creditors do you have that will take $50.00 and a promise? If he promises to make good on all future work, why don't you tell them to forward to your Paypal account the fee first and work on a cod basis. You are extending these folks credit and I believe you and we should act like creditors and demand that all past accounts be paid up, before any future work happens. Good luck on whatever you decide, but I think you are chasing lost money with more of your money.

I think anybody who would take out a new mortgage to pay his notaries is crazy. If your business is crashing and the market isn't looking like anything is going to get better anytime soon, you simply do not compound matters and risk losing your house. You close down the business and cut your losses, and if that means not paying the notaries, so be it.
Isn't this the same guy who was stiffed for $18,000 a few weeks ago? And now it's grown to $75,000? I don't believe it, I think he's feeding you a line and just trying to milk the last few bucks out of the industry that he can before he goes under.
I think people should use more business sense and not fall for sob stories like this one. Even if it's all true (which I seriously doubt), you need to worry about your own bottom line and that begins with not extending credit to people who have told you flat out that they're having a cash crisis. That's just beyond foolish.

PS, your profile needs work James
"I offer my clients the assurance of an professional closing."
You're actually doing the opposite with this sentence.

I get so nervous taking any job nowadays.
If I get a call from someone I have not heard from in a while, I am happy. But then I think, why are they calling me NOW? Did they already burn all the notaries they used to call instead of me? I know they always paid me before, but maybe everyone else is saying no for a reason? But I need the work, so I am torn.

Cali Im not sure what you mean by what you said. Please go into a little more detail. im always open for "constructive" criticism.
Also Im not sure what you guys mean. I dont recall to many creditors including myself demand payment in full from someone who is having problems. I read in the posts thay used to be a pretty good company. True creditors dont offer to extend anymore credit until you get to a certain point, but Im not offering to do 10 more closings for them either. I might do 1 or 2 at the most, but Id rather give them that chance than to have them close their doors and never get paid.
To each his own..In these time im not going to be such a hard nose. I did not say I was reducing my fee, and if after 2 closings Im not paid then what am I really out? A pack and a half of paper..yes and my time..and some gas. I think on a small scale we all do that anyway.
Im sure this will cause an uproar but hey..thats the way I feel. You wont see me screaming Ive lost $9,000 to an SS like some of the posts I have seen, and in the end I still feel pretty good about myself.

Hi James Believe Cali meant "an professional closing" in your profile
Should be "a professional closing" lose the "n"

Re: PS, your profile needs work James
It should be "a professional closing", not "an professional closing". Grammar errors do not inspire confidence in your professionalism.
Also "$25,000 EandO Insurance Policy Flexible hours." is not a sentence, at the very least you need a period after "policy". And it should either be "E and O" or "E&O" but not "EandO"
As for the rest of your post, I will agree with "to each his own". But there's no way in hell I would do any more closings for a company who has told me they're missing $75,000 and can't pay their notaries what they owe them.

Thx for the correction. As you can tell I wasn't an english major.
You are right. I do not plan to do many. Probably 2 at the very most with stipulations. if they cant meet that then I will not do any at all. Fortunately I do not have any over 30 day outstanding invoices besides them so Ill give them some slack. Hey if I dont get paid I can only blame myself.
Ill keep you posted
