What should've been an easy day------- Long

Turn in to nightmare and loss of money. Woke up Sept. 13 with no signings by 10:00am I receive first call Closing at 2:00pm Purchase can you be there Of course I say. No problem get docs print all is good. Second call comes in at 11:30am can you do a signing today at 3:00 no but should be able to do at 5:00pm Ok will call you back. Fine Call comes at 1:30 can you still do that for us at 5:00pm Of course No problem let me know when you get docs will need by 3:00pm ok. Get to the 2:00pm appt. Borrower running 20 minutes behind OK no problem.
Borrower gets there we go through the docs all signed but running a few minutes behind to get back to office and print then drive 45min. to the 5:00pm ok no problem. Get back to the office start printing I run out of toner that's ok I think I seen two boxes in the closet. I get to the closet guess what those are the boxes I should've returned for recycle ok no problem office max just few minutes away if I can make it there and back in 15min I still should be ok. Get to Office max guess what for once they have legal paper but no Toner (I hate Office Max) no other store close by. Call sister at her office can I print my docs at your office yes but make you bring Legal paper ok no problem. Get to sister's office start to print docs took alittle coaching her printer but got them printed. Go to leave went to make a right going west when I notice a bunch of cars coming at me going east Oh no I say I better turn and go east but the east bound lanes were all taken up so I follow the cars going the wrong direction on the road not noticing that they were undercover police officers then I come across a horrible accident. Now I realized what was going on so I made my way over to the correct lanes and sit in traffic at this point I will never make it to the appt. by 5:00pm. This would be the second time for this client I was running late and the last one cancelled because they stated I was late now I feel terrible. Call all party's to let them know. Still sitting traffic I get a knock on my window guess what undercover policeman license registration please you were driving on the wrong side of the road I know sir I thought they were directing traffic this way when I seen cars coming at me so I followed and when I realized you were Police I got back over to the correct lanes I apologize needless to say he didn't believe me ( Honest it was the Truth) Ok so now I get a Ticket for 118.50 ok no problem back on road arrive at Bo by 5:30pm LO there oh crap. I apologize again then we go through docs and LO proceeds to ask me all kinds of questions wait a minute I can only show you what's in the docs cannot answer questions but have # if we need to . LO knew nothing kept fumbling through bo copies where's that doc as I was presenting docs to borrower he was trying to keep up OMG What should've been a hour signing turned into 2 1/2 hours. NO problem!!!!!!! Get in the car look on the floor guess what forgot to drop 2:00pm docs at Fed Ex I'll never make there by then. I got there at 7:10pm already closed now there is a problem this is purchase to fund on 9/14 one package to Largo Fl another to Tampa Fl . Thank God they were local to me another words in the same state and within in a 1hour 1/2 from my home. So first thing this morning I got up drove to both Title companies and delivered their packages by 10:30am. ALLLLLLL IS WELLL Whew! 118.50 ticket 50.00 in gas 4hours of time plus I told Signing Co. to keep their fee because I was running late again . 9/13 cost me about 300.00$ Live and Learn.

And borrowers say . . .

And borrowers are always saying to me, "Gee, this looks like a fun little part time job. Is it LUCRATIVE? (They always use that word, and then salivate.) Do you get to set your own hours? And they reimburse you for gas, right?" And do you get paid for over time and weekends? Do you get paid per stamp?

Our job is to make sure those signatures get delivered to the Title people on time. Borrowers have no idea what that takes.

I have had lots of bad days, but I think yours was the worst. Everything going wrong, plus getting a ticket.

Yesterday must have been ticket day!!!...

I feel your pain, yesterday was a bad one for me to...got a speeding ticket, had to do a signing with a gentleman that had glaucoma, and had an audit!!! TGIF!!!!

i feel your pain and hope that things....

get better for you, but have one question........WHY, when you completed the closing would you ever tell the ss to keep YOUR fee.........when i do a job and have busted my a$$ to make it happen i also want my fee......i am not in business to be mr nice guy, nor should you be...... just mho...................

Sorry just now getting back from my closings for today. I think the phone will be
shut off and Happy hour will begin. Thanks for all the replys.
By the way I gave the fee back out of common courtesy. It was not their fault
that I ran out of toner. Because actually that is what started the whole scenario
in the first place. If I can live through a day like this it just proves that I am strong and
will make it in this business. But please Lord don't wish upon me anytime soon LOL.
