flat rate print fee...
I charge a flat rate for all e-docs. But today I printed 20 pages and charged the same as I would for 100 pages, why do I feel like a heel?
Do you all charge flats?

Re: flat rate print fee...yes
Think of it as averaging - how many huge pkgs have you done for going rate, where you have spit fire upon completion? If you knew in advance it was small and they wanted to negotiate, fine, but sometimes we just don't know until we print. This is the customer that you will want to go out of the way for - a little extra courtesy or svc. that they can then see your services are well worth the money. jmo

Makes up for the 300 pagers. All evens out. Feel....
good about yourself. My e-doc fee varies by source of job. After doing a few, you get a feel for what type of pkgs they usually have. As I have said before, when buying a printer the cost and yield of toner for the printer is more important than the cost of the printer. Generally more expensive, faster printers are much cheaper to operate than low end models. Have a great weekend. Hope that all is well. Gotta run. Busy day.

Yes, I charge a flat rate too. Don't feel bad, someone will 'getcha' with a large package, plus you are saving the hiring company time and money by not having to overnight it to you.

I charge a flat rate for e-docs also.
If they know that you're charging a print fee, I think they would complain if they thought it was excessive; if so, you can negotiate it. If you tell them the fee and they accept it, what's to feel guilty about?
