1 - 2 - 3 notary dot com

Is it just me or is this website (123) incredibly counter-intuitive as far as getting registered for forum use and getting listings the way you want them. If anyone else out there has had difficulty using this site, please share any wisdom with me. Thanks.

I do see that they try to stimulate conversations. However, I have an issue with the information that they provide as factual. They report that Louisiana is an attorney only state, which is not true. I tried to dispute it, but was promptly told that their researchers were rarely incorrect and that they did not have time to debate it. I had to answer the question regarding Louisiana being an attorney only state incorrectly to be certified on their site. The research leaves something to be desired in my opinion.

Me too

I find that they give out a lot of really poor information. People can grumble all they want about how it can sometimes gets rough here, but this is far and away the best forum for information and advice. Bad information usually gets called out here.

Although...

Viewed only as a search engine, it IS a primary vehicle that many companies use. They and NotRot are far and away where most companies have found me over the years. I guess you have to look at overall bang for the bucks, and those membership fees are tax-deductible anyway.

Rough usually means...

...someone disagreeing with the poster.

If you want "always nice" the sure bet is a board called http://www.EtiquetteHell.com. Nothing but niceness will be tolerated. Of course, you won't learn much about signing work, but people are only nice and courteous there.

Roger: You are right on about business

I do get some companies that find my listing on that site, but many more from this one and I can actually learn things on this one. So having both is a good thing. I just know not to put too much into what the other site posts as factual.

I agree - I get a lot of work from that site...

I corrected them on a IL notary law recently, and they corrected their info right away, and they were nice about it.

Not willing to debate!!

I took the cert test back in November of 2007. I am certified through The Signing Registry but I thought I could add this to my profile. I missed three which I strongly disputed with 123. The answer I received was "Our staff has reviewed the questions many times, and I am not willing to debate the questions as it will do neither of us any good. Why not just request another test password and then try again. It doesn't cost you anything. I would recommend studying from the text for another hour taking notes before you try it again too." I declined.

I like Carmen but Jeremy thinks he's a Martinet!

I dropped my membership because of Jeremy's attitude. However they are a decent conduit for jobs, not like Notary Rotary but not bad! Their information is sometimes faulty and no dissention in the ranks is tolerated.

Oddly enough, I get more calls from companies saying they found me on 123 and I just have a free listing on that site. Still, I never go on it. I rely on NotRot for news, info. and laughs.
