Backdating instead of redraw
Yep, TC asked me to backdate, didn't want to redraw. Told SS who was 'oh so shocked' but went on to tell me that I could do it if I wanted to. Bo wanted to wait until today, LO didn't tell of consequences evidently, so I was replaced with someone who will comply with the request. Nothing in writing, except docs I have along with msg, "we've got that covered".
Greedy, cutthroat times.
Just venting..tnx

Did you get any info on the property?
Watch your county clerk's records - watch for the mortgage to record - then report the notary AND the TC...MHO

P.S.
"Nothing in writing, except docs I have along with msg, "we've got that covered"."
You have that msg and the docs - today's date 4/30/08 - if that shows up as recorded with earlier date - BINGO!!

My thoughts exactly! Wait for it to be recorded and then
report the notary & TC. It way past the time to stop this activity and if we start reporting this illegal activity, they'll think twice about asking. Personally, it's not worth up to 5 years in jail plus fines to notarize a back-dated document.

Re: P.S.
Linda / Everyone,
I get asked to backdate every so often and when I refuse, I get told that they'll "find someone who will." I've never known who to report it to (except for the SOS office with regard to the notary, of course) and how to prove it.
Would the e-mail really serve as sufficient proof to get the notary and TC in trouble? If so, who would you report it too?
Also, you said to watch the Recorder's office for the deed to record. I've never done that before. How do you do it in FL? Can anyone get a copy of the deed on any property?
Thanks,
-Mike

Re: P.S.
Some counties in Florida have the Clerk of the Court's records online. Alol we have to do is go to the appropriate county clerk's page and search the records.
