Closing Quest

Closing Quest stuck it to me bigtime. I know, I know, I should have known better. I read all the negative posts but they never stiffed me before. I took a chance. I guess they were waiting to give me a lot of signings at one time before they stiffed me. They owe me for 4. I don't expect sympathy but I just wanted to make everyone aware, they're still at it. The owner flat out told me he wasn't going to pay me because I had the audacity to ask for my money. He threatened me and bragged that he treated other notaries in the same way if they complained, by not paying them. He was screaming at me and sounded like he has a screw loose. He's scarey. I'm setting my phone to reject their number to make sure they never call me again. Now, I just have to figure out how to collect. I'm having a bad, bad day. DD

Re: Closing Quest backdating request

I got a call from Closing Quest today for a signing in my area. The scheduler said that there is one little problem, the docs are dated for yesterday. She asked me could I date my notarizations with yesterday's day. I told her that backdating was illegal and that she was committing a crime by requesting me to backdate. She quickly hung up. The nerve!

Re: Closing Quest backdating request

"one little problem" I would say that was a BIG problem. This business amazes me sometimes. At least they asked you ahead of time, I had one company and I can't remember their name, actually ask me in writing as part of the closing instructions when they sent the docs. Now that was really brillant to have proof in writing. Amazing isn't it?

Re: Closing Quest backdating request

And you should take that written request and forward to your State SOS. These companies need to go away, and this would help.

Re: Closing Quest backdating request

I should have done that however I did not make a copy. I was such in shock that someone would put that in writing that I didn't think to forward it to SOS. If it happens again I will defintely do that. Thanks for the good advice.

Re: Closing Quest backdating request

Consider yourself lucky. I'm in the process of filling out small claim forms. I think one of the staff at Closing Quest is representing himself as an attorney. He emailed me. They are in deep doo-doo. I'm going to be filing complaints in Nashville, TN where they are located. I'm filing at the State Attorney General, & the SOS, just to name a few. I'm also going to check to see if this turkey is actually an attorney, which I doubt. They are truly the scum of the earth.

Re: Closing Quest backdating request

you need to file complaints in your own state so that they will not be able to do more business there.

Re: Closing Quest backdating request

Oh, I didn't know that. I'll check it out. Thanks for the suggestion. Todd, the owner of Closing Quest told me that he is a Notary Public. So, I'll be calling the Tennessee SOS tomorrow. DD.
