Good company, they pay like clock work for copies of mortgages/assignments of record at the courthouse. Not much of a fee so I have to be going to the county already. Not many requests because I live in a very rural area in Iowa, no real big cities. I cover a large area in Iowa as an Abstractor, so that's where they got my name. In addition to being an Abstractor, I close loans when needed, am a bailsbondsmen, process server for lawsuits, and serve collection letters. A person can't wear enough hats when times are alittle slow. I am always looking for more opportunities to make money. My family laughs at me & jokes that I could use atleast 1 more part time job.

If you live very close to the county court house, this would be a good side line.

Not much.... I've been paid $25 to get a copy of mortgage & any assignments. So you better not have to pay much for copies or drive very far to the county recorder's office. I only do retrievals if I'm already going there. I call it my gas money then. If I don't have plans to go to the county they ask for the retrieval, then I turn it down & they find someone else.
