Hi everyone
I stumbled across this website when I was looking at information for applying for a home-based job. The company requires a notarized I-9 if you apply for a position. They only use Notary Rotary notaries. I never knew a website like this existed before today. I am a 19 year legal secretary. I've been a notary for five years in Tennessee. I haven't dealt with a lot of loan closings, except my own. Have you all gone through training courses?

Who is the company? And, Debbie most loan-signing notaries have gone througt a training course, if they had no experience in this field. I recommend the Signing Registry course, for sale here at Notary Rotary. However, let me say that loans are down in the industry, and there is little work going around. Many long-term notary signing agents are now working J-O-B-S due to lack of work.

Horrors is right, Charles
I myself am managing & dispatching a transportation company, and fortunately can still accept any closings that come my way. But they are few and far between these days, and I can't depend on that as complete income anymore.

Re: Horrors is right, Charles, You're absolutely right Misty
I just know that I couldn't handle going to work for someone else: I've been on my own so long I'd make a lousy employee

Well, Charles, this is a business I also own, and cannot afford to pay a manager. I must boast that I am an awesome employee...if you can call it that. I hire PT IC's for the positions, so I have plenty of coverage. But when in this situation, I have to produce the behaviors and actions I want the IC's to emulate. So, I have to be extra good and lead by example if I want the IC's to produce.

FYI notarizing I-9 signatures...
The form itself doesn't contain any notarial language, so after determining whether they want an ack or jurat, you have to notarize the signature with a loose certificate. DO NOT sign the I-9 form where it says you are certifying the person's eligibility to work in the U.S.!!
The notary signs ONLY the loose certificate, NOTHING on the I-9 form itself.
