Hostile Instruction Page
Has several comments in large font red about what I WILL do at the signing and what I WILL NOT do. What I had BETTER make sure I fax back, make sure I fax back NOTHING ELSE, not even a cover page or my pay will be docked. Send invoice for the work in a seperate fax or use snail mail.
It goes on to state (in alternating normal font to oversize red font) that I am FORBIDDEN to ship any documents or call about shipping. It goes on to say that AFTER they verify my faxbacks, they will contact me with the shipping info....
Now, this was a last minute deal with them contacting me after 5pm last night. The Borrower is 1hr 40min. away and I have to wait for the e-docs. The signing finishes right around 11pm. Per the hostile instruction page I am to call the SA BEFORE we say goodnight. I called both numbers for the SA, no answer. I get home and do the faxbacks and call again, no answer.
I still have the loan package which did show up with a UPS next day delivery sheet. So here's the dilemma; Do I ship and get my pay docked? Or do I hold until they open on Monday and get my pay docked for being so late?
....And what's with all this hostility in these instruction pages? They read so angry like a parent scolding a child, yet the SAs were very pleasant people to talk with - except they weren't there when the calls needed to be made.

If I were in your shoes, I would just send after they OK it to send. The UPS label will be good no matter what day it is sent out. BY waiting, you are CYA by following directions.

I get alot of those type instructions. Say to call IMMEDIATELY after closing. I do, no answer. Same deal. I always leave a voice mail & follow up with an e-mail as well. NO WAY would I ship before confirmation. If they want to treat me like a child, i'll behave just so. And they will take the heat for a "NON next day delievery". Not my problem. If TC has a problem, I always forward the e-mail instructions to them. I had one TC tell me just send them anyhow and i'll deal with SS. Newp. No deal. It's not directly them paying us. Just my 2 cp.

They are hostile because they are used to dealing with inexperienced newbies that work for lowball fees. They have to hold hands for the same reason.
I personally detest being treated like a child and not as a professional. I can't waste my time being hand held. All the hand holding, calling in to constantly update or check status creates stress and possible errors. There are a few SS out there that I refuse to work with because of this.
Sit on the docs until they say to ship. Hope the unnecessary delay causes them to have issues with title. Not our problem because we are following instructions.

I agree with you 100%. I don't work for companies that "babysit". Most companies I deal with, when questioned, want docs shipped if faxing would delay a day.

aprox 90% of my closings lately have been CW and i have....
yet to have to fax back any thing..... most of my closings come direct from title co's....if i am aware ahed of time i tell them my extra fee for fax backs...if i don't find out untill i get the confirmation then i make an immediate phone call or e-mail and tell them my fee or it's a no go....i don't have time for their childish ideas......my.02

I would have called the company and gave the signing back.
I'm not going to waste my time with a company that is obviously looking for any and every reason to reduce my pay, especially if involves 3.5 hours travel time that's not going to get my home until 1 am. Sometimes the money just isn't worth it (assuming you actually get paid in full at the end of it all).
