Are you an SS? I think we need more info, as pay rates, etc.

Fees should not be discussed in an open forum, but if you would like to tell me your fees in an open forum feel free. If you would like to send me an email, we can discuss it....

Steven I don't see why someone who is requesting closers shouldn't disclose the fees they pay to closers, unless they are low enough to be embarrassing to the requester.

You too Wayne, How much do you make for each of you closings, if its 5 minutes away or 40 minutes away, at 9 am or 9 pm. much more to it than just throwing a number out there.

Just a shout out for Steve, I have done many closings for him, he met my fees every single time and paid within 3 weeks of the closing, and even sent me emails telling me when my checks were mailed. I have even used his services for him to find me a notary for my companies closings.

Guess that is why you havent done any closings for me in FL. Not one complaint about what I pay or how long it takes. Maybe you should discuss what you need to get on an open forum. Its no ones business what someone makes and each case is different. You should know that, I do as a closer for 7 years and a signing service as well. You are just wrong....

I have to comment on this because I have done a bunch of closings for Steve more than I can count on my toes and fingers put together. He has meet my fee and paid me on a reasonable schedule also. I have actually done a closing that Shannon had got him to schedule. He is a very timely payer than all signing companies. He does send email that payment went out. I would really recommend you contacting him to put your name on the list for North Carolina.

"I do as a closer for 7 years and a signing service as well. "
If this was directed at me, Steven, which I believe it was, then you need to know, I have been in this business more than 7 years, and I also have had a signing service for several years.
And if I were to come on to the forum and ask for a signing agent I would be upfront and say what I am prepared to pay for the closing. But, I use the Find a Notary feature to find signing agents.
"Maybe you should discuss what you need to get on an open forum"
Hmm I know what I need to post on an open forum. I have been a member here and other forums for longer than you have been doing closings!

well then maybe its time for you to get into another business. You are nasty to most people on here which is uncalled for and unprofessional. Just because you have been a on this forum longer than I have been doing closings doesnt make you better than me or a notary who is brand new. I have used notaries that are brand new, seasoned ones, attorneys and alike and they are all treated the same by me. Some new notaries are equally as good if not better that ones with as much experience as you....

You must be JOKING!
Sylvia get in another business? HAH! You may have to get in another business for attacking one of the BEST of the BEST. Sylvia is the Notary Queen as well as the SS Queen. She is the opposite of nasty and has proven herself over MANY years. She is the ULTIMATE professional.
From your short time here and what you have the nerve to do is ignorant. From the time I first saw Sylvia post many years ago, she was classy; she certainly IS better than you.
I do not know you, but I would NEVER work for you. You have shown yourself to be a person undeserving of respect. Please go somewhere else and attack the most professional person you can on those forums.
What a joke!
If I were the owner of the Title company that is entrusting their success to you, I would re-think the decision based on your clear lack of judgment. If you research your notary publics the way you research those you attack - you, your Title Company contact, and their clients are in for some suffering. If you are using notary publics that are "brand new" when there are so many reputable and successful ones available, again, I wonder about your judgment.

Re: You must be JOKING!
Thank you Deborah.
But trying to convince Steven that I have never made a nasty post is, as they say, un coup d'épée dans l'eau and he is unable to show any posts of mine over the last several years I have been a member here where I have been nasty.
Those who know me on here know my reputation.

I don't have time to read all these posts, but steve is a great guy, i work with him all the time, his pay rates are fair and he pays out in less then 3 weeks, you can't ask for a better person to work with, I also think of him as a friend now because of how nice he always has been to me and jokes with me. He takes his business serious, but he also treats people right. He tries to put the notaries needs ahead of all else. I am thankful for the first time he called me, because he shows me each time what a good company should be and is. So you people that have given him a hard time need to just stop and look at what your problem really is. If you want more work then Steve is the person that you need to get in with.

Any notaries in North Carolinia who want to work with a fantastic signing service should contact Steve. I have worked for Steve for over a year and have been extremely pleased on how he handles his business. There is constant communication between Steve and the notary. You know when to expect your docs, when you get your docs and is always available to ask a question at any time. His pay schedule is always timely and he has always met or exceeded my fees. Steve is defintely someone you will want to be associated with in this business. Thanks again for your continued professionalsim and dedication in this business. I appreciate our business partnership.

Steven disclose what signing service you are listed as in
Signing Central. It appears that you may have more than one account here. I see a lot of support but little of it is substantiated.

I thought this was a forum that is supposed to support each other. I am trying to give business to closers and at least I found out who not to call so that is helpful too. I have had numerous inquiries form QUALIFIED closers who may assist in my successful business. Others I guess you will have to settle for the $50.00 closings which you may be being over paid. Sorry that some of you cant be more professional in your business, but it was a simple request to expand into an area. I would never tell anyone what I pay on an open forum or would expect anyone else to either, but I have a clear head that I pay fairly. End of my dissussion.

Please answer my question!
When have I ever been nasty to anyone on this forum?. Name me one instance. You can't! Give me message numbers! Any documentation that I have ever been nasty or unprofessional?
On the other hand your response to me, accusing me of being nasty, was unprofessional and unwarranted.
As to disclosing fees, the lowest fee I will pay to a signing agent is $100 for overnight docs. And the check goes out immediately after the signing. No waiting to see if the loan closes or not. Even if it is a no sign the check (full fee) goes out the very next morning.

hopefully someone else will answer about you being nasty and rude to other notaries on here, Im not wasting my time with going back to look for something that doesnt matter. I know you pay fairly and quickly from what I have read and so do I and you have read that on here from closers that have been working for me.

I don't know him from Adam, but it looks like
the folks who have worked with him give him a thumbs up. This alone in this market is probably as good as it gets for recommendations. I will say late last week 2 folks were looking for closers in different areas and no one challenged them about their fees. So I say live and let live.

I did one for Steve Carter recently in Ringgold, VA. The fee we negotiated was very fair; he paid within 30 days, was very professional and didnt micro-manage/handhold as so many are want to do these days. I considered it a pleasure to work with him and he is welcome to utilize my services again anytime.
Perhaps he and Sylvia just got off on the wrong foot, as can easily happen online. One cannot tell intonation on here.
They both seem to be very nice people IMO. This is such a shame.
Hope you can work it out.

My feet were fine Dianne. My post to Steven was not at all nasty, yet he accuses me of always being nasty to members here. So obviously he has never read my posts. He owes me an apology, however, I am sure I won't get one. As I am not likely to run across him very much it is immaterial. I do get calls for other states and as I only accept Florida signings I will locate a signer in whatever state is required and pass the name to the title company and let them work out fees etc. Now I know who in PA not to recommend.

I have been on this board since 2003 and I always read what Sylvia has to say. I respect her wisdom and experience and have learned so much from her. I agree with Sylvia on this point. Anyone who will not state their fees is not someone I would work with. I just booked work for Monday and Tuesday and they are not low ball fees either.

Miranda You consider this nasty? - my post:-
Steven I don't see why someone who is requesting closers shouldn't disclose the fees they pay to closers, unless they are low enough to be embarrassing to the requester."
Nothing nasty in that - and as a signing service if I were to come on here and ask for a closer (instead of using the Find A Notary feature which is what most companies do) then I would say I need closers in XXX area and I pay XXX amount. I have no problem stating my fees when asking for closers.
Now, his post to me suggesting I get out of this business, that was downright insulting and nasty. He stated that I am always nasty to the members of this forum. That is out and out right libel. He cannot cite one post I have made over the years I have been on this forum where I have been nasty to anyone. Seems he has a problem with the truth. Not someone I would want doing my closings.

Re: I agree. He gave his contact info. If you are in NC...
Discussion of fees is a business issue and, IMO, should not be aired on an open forum. I have my fees and a SS, TC or whatever have their fees. When I get a call, my order of questons are: location, type of signing, whether it is an FHA, and then e-docs or overnight. I then immediately tell them my fee before they tell me their fee. I have a cushion area where I will adjust or 'work with them' -- however, I also have a bottom line that I will not go below. There are just too many fee variables, and the negotiating should be done on the phone and not in an open forum.
Mr. Carter I know nothing of you other than your posted words. However, I applaud your professionalism when it comes to your stand on fees.
