Notary commission Renewal - new Bond

OK - I'm a noob! I worked for a bank and we had a department where they totally took care of all the clerical issues for us Notaries.. yeah we were spoiled! Well this is the 1st time that I am having to take care of my Renewals all by myself!
I do see where I can order a new notary bond for my state here @ NotRot, which is great and Id like to do that, my question is: Right outta the gate, it asks for the name on my commission, then the Exp Date - well - I'm set to expire on May 23rd - I want this to be a new 4 year bond, I cant renew my Notary for 4 yrs until I get a new bond, but I dont have that new 4 yr exp date cuz Im getting ready to expire!
Which comes first, the chicken or the egg??

Tell NR what day you want your bond to start and the length and they'll take care of it.

I would assume they are talking about the bond about to expire, so they know when the new one needs to take affect. Hopefully you know the name on your commission.... Wink

Your new bond would have an expiration date of 05/23/2012. Depending on your state law, I got my bond emailed in PDF the same day as WA state don't require a wet signature from the bond issuer. Keep in mind that you should not use your new stamp until 05/23/08 even if you get it early.
