OT - Work at Home
Someone on here listed work they were doing at home doing customer service work - can someone message me about that? I've totally had it with my daytime job as I posted yesterday. My boss flat out told me yesterday that if my husband has to be taken to the doctor for his appointments that I need to find someone else to take him. Well his doctor is over an hour from home - everyone I know works during the day so that leaves me. I was told that I need to be here at work. Whatever happened to compassion? I've decided that I am going to start looking for another job. Screw this. I don't need this crap.

It was MargaretFL's post...
it had to do with TMobile. I hope that helps.
How long have you worked for this guy?

Re: Here is a link to a story that was on GMA recently

The woman in the story got her job through liveops.com.
I haven't applied for anything yet, but I've got it bookmarked for the future. I'm getting so tired of chasing people for $$$ for the few jobs I get these days!
Good luck to you. I hope your husband heals fast. I think it's horrible of your boss to be so unkind.

Hi there,
Depending on the extent of your husband’s illness, you may be eligible for Family Medical Leave, which can be used for interment days. Here is the link which may answer some of your questions regarding this if you're not aware. http://www.dol.gov/elaws/esa/fmla/faq.asp
Hope this helps you in the interim.

I had a similar situation a number of years ago. I used the website Bernice has given to read up on what my rights were. Do yourself a favor and read the Family Medical Leave Act law. There is a stipulation on the size of the company so this might not work for you. You might also check with the labor department for your state. There are some heavy fines the employer can incur for not following the FMLA law. The company I worked for had to post a large poster in the employees area regarding OSHA and FMLA.

Re: OT - Work at Home - Size of Employer...
Employees are eligible to take FMLA leave if they have worked for their employer for at least 12 months, and have worked for at least 1,250 hours over the previous 12 months, and work at a location where at least 50 employees are employed by the employer within 75 miles.

Unfortunately - there are only 3 employees including myself. I think it has to be a company with more than 50 - I will read up on it though. Took him to the doctor today and have to take him back next week to have the staples removed from his ankle - this is going to be something when I tell him I need an afternoon off next week. I'm going to take the weekend researching home jobs. Maybe start doing inspections, etc.
