OT - prayers please

I haven't been on here since last Monday. My husband was helping his father cut trees down and the top of one of the trees came down on top of my husband. He has a total of 8 broken bones and will be in a cast and wheelchair for 3 months. It's been an exhausting week. Figures I didn't have any closings for 3 weeks prior to this and last week while he was in the hospital my cell was ringing off the wall. I stayed at the hospital with him all week. I have a feeling too that I'm going to be losing my day job which doesn't make things any easier. My boss was not happy with me staying out all week. He was in the hospital an hour from home and I just didn't want to leave him.

My prayers for you and your husband.

As for your day job, have you looked into Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)? Federal law that protects your job....

Re: My prayers for you and your husband.

There has been a lot of things going on here lately, clients not paying him, etc. and he is overworked and things are not getting done and it's trickling down to me where sometimes I am getting overwhelmed and making mistakes, etc. - last week just didn't help matters any. My boss has been in a very pissy mood the past few months because of this and it's stressing me out as well because he is taking it out on me and the part-time girl here.

Re: My prayers for you and your husband.

My heart goes out to you and to your husband. I went through a similar trial when my nephew was nearly killed in a brutal attack. Certainly does consume ALL your energy and focus, and just know that it wasn't your husband's time to leave this earth. It was a God shot that he's still here.
Your boss is getting irritated because he sees you are stressed out and not altogether attendant. He probably is having financial stress too...in the larger picture, it's too bad he can't muster a little compassion and see this through with you. I don't know how I carried on for several years after Justin was hurt, but somehow I was able to bring everything into focus and be more centered...sometimes God picks us out for these tasks because he knows we have the bandwidth to survive.

Hang in there and pray a lot, I'll be praying for you too.

Yoli is right! Get Family Medical Leave paperwork and

fill out the documents, then give them to your boss. My DH took a week off to stay home with me when I dislocated my ankle and was flat on my back in bed for several weeks. It took that long to work out all the issues in our definitely user-unfriendly home and come up with a smooth "confined to bed and the bedroom" routine for everything from meals while Carl was at work to activities that would make the recovery downtime pass more quickly. With Family Medical Leave invoked, your job is protected. Carl's employers encouraged him to stay home with me the first week, but yours is apparently not that understanding or caring. I pray your husband's healing will be uncomplicated and complete.

Sounds like the company is under 50 employees

so family medical leave act doesn't apply. Of course this is a guess on the # of employees.
