PayPal problem and ordering toner refill
I've run into a brick wall trying to order toner refills from tonerkits.com. It kept sending me to PayPal which I haven't used in many years. From doing a search, I gather they are requiring that now. I looked up my password and tried that approach, but I got a message back that my account has been permanently blocked! I have no idea why this would be. (I tried the link for the forgotten password, just in case that was the problem, but got the same answer. It also shows I have a $0 balance.) So now I'm caught in a loop that isn't allowing me to make a purchase!
Maybe someone tampered with my account? I remember getting some emails a long time ago about an unauthorized access to my PayPal account, but it looked like phishing and I never found the time to check it out. I hope I'm not forever banned from using PayPal! Does anyone have any suggestions about how to get around this? I sent an email yesterday to them asking for an explanation, but haven't received a response yet. (I don't think I've ever used it more than five times, if that, and never had a problem.)
In the meantime, I need to order more toner ASAP. I found several options from my search but anyone have any other suggestions -- or favorites among these? (I'm so bummed about not being able to order from tonerkits.com, because I've always received great service -- and pricing -- from them in the past!)
Here are some misc. suggestions from previous posts -- none of which offered much info (the toner would be for an HP 3330):
printpal.com ink-refills.net tonerrefillkits.com superwarehouse.com
Thanks for all your help!!

Paypal is a PITA.....they freeze accounts for "suspicious activity" with no proof of such, require one to jump through hoops submitting tons of documentation confirming your ID and residence, then still won't unfreeze the account. I'm looking for another company like Paypal to join, that doesn't put one through the nonsense they do.

Have you tried GOOGLE?
They have blocked me for 'suspicious activity' and reversed the transaction back to the other member and overdrew the account because of their fees/?!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I told them to go screw I did not overdraw my account and prove the suspcion that took place. They have not. So I said I will not either.
Google is not as well known but they are not as obnoxious!

Re: http://www.paypalsucks.com/
Glad to hear I'm not the only one. I've always preferred to use a credit card for this very reason. I'm just disappointed that tonerkits.com won't accept them anymore -- even though their site looks like they do, and you don't find out that they won't accept them until after going through the motions of filling in all the information. That makes me seriously nervous, too. I'm be really worried if they hadn't been such a good supplier before.
So far I've done a quick check at tonerrefillkits.com. Their price seems to be twice as high for the toner I need. (Maybe avoiding credit card fees is one way they keep their prices down...)
Thanks for the feedback...

You don't have to use a PayPal account
When you get to the PayPal payment screen, you have the option of either logging in to your PayPal account or just paying by credit card. Left side of the screen - enter your payment and shipping info and complete the transaction. You may get a message asking if you want to log in or join, but just ignore it. I do this whenever I want to use a credit card that's not linked to my PayPal account, and have never had a problem.

When you click on the BUY button at tonerkits.com to add the item to your cart, it takes you to the PayPal page. INSTEAD of clicking the Login to Account button, LOOK down on the left just above the VISA/MC/AMEX logos and you will see a LINK to "Use your credit card or bank account (where available). Continue" to allow you to pay by credit card WITHOUT using a PayPal account.
You DO NOT have to have a PayPal account in order to PAY by PayPal.

I tried that about three times. Each time it said that they could "not accept this credit card". First time I thought it was because it was Amex, then I tried two different Visa cards. Each time I also got a notice stating that they noticed I had a PayPal account and directed me to that page. I was stuck in a catch 22. BTW, my credit cards are perfectly good. (I pay all in full every month.)
I'm pretty sure I've done that for previous purchases, but it didn't work this time. Thanks for your help, though. I may just try again -- after following Sylvia's suggestion... ;>

PAYPAL is trying to partner uo with every online company so they can get the hellified kick backs.
Get in with GOOGLE...So far I have had no issues with them. Besides you should be able to pay for an item they way YOU WANT TO.......If I were you I think I would tell the company it was not fair to take your options to pay away from you as consistent consumer!
PAYPAL totally sucks!

I have a PayPal merchant acct for my business...
and yeah, they do suck! The fees they charge (high @ss percentage sucks) and they do these daily holds (for each deposit I receive) that are outrageous - they hold for for 90 days then release your money.
I also found a glitch...if you do certain transactions on PayPal after hours, (like 6pm CST) it doesn't matter what credit or debit card you use, it always tells me to use another card, but it won't take any! This is probably their fail safe way to weed out transactions that they think are 'suspicious'.
I have been thinking about switching to Google...anyone out there using Google as a merchant account?
