The owner of Platinum Closing Services requested that I complete a illegal notarization in the fall of 2006. Her out of town borrower (a notary himself) did not have a valid form of ID and he and the SS owner could not understand why I could not ID him with a photo copy of his ID. I billed Platinum for my time and a print fee $50 and was paid only $25. I don't work for signing services or title companies that expect me to skirt the law.

File for your full fee and time lost in small claims court and let them tell their "side" of the fiasco in front of a judge. The BBB should also get a nice letter about their pratices.

Hi Linda- We are Platinum Signing Services here in MN, NOT platinum closing services. Platinum Closing Services is out of OH and we hear he does not pay. He is telling everyone he is platinum signing services when he calls, but he is not. We just had one of our notaries call from the Chicago area to tell us this. Be careful!!

I checked my spreadsheet for last year; they pay 7-14 days on the ones they paid. I have two where they did not pay - no trip fee, no print fee on RTCs.

So far this year I have had them call and place three orders but never confirmed by email or fax. All three time during EOM crunch time and I lost other orders waiting (two hours is my limit) for their confirmations. At this point they are on my s**t list. Just had another one today they did this to me on.
