Your welcome,

Good, always keep borrowers in the loop. Don't breathe until you see the file in your in-box. Shortly is shortly, could be now or later.
Borrower sounds like they really need this deal.
This closing deserves an after closing cocktail.

Yes, a cocktail or 12, ha....finally got docs 10 mins before closing. Some pages legal others letter and all in between. Having to reset printer each time. Called closers and they said tomorrow would be better......called TC and all is cool. Wow, what a job for a newbie but I can handle it and if I say so myself, I was and am professional with all I do.

Are they expecting you to back-date tomorrow or are the docs

not date sensitive?

Protect yourself and make it clear that your notarizations will show the date of the actual signing, not the date originally printed on the docs, if they are allowing the docs you received today to be signed tomorrow.

If you are going to do this job and do it efficiently making the most of your time (which equals $$$), you need the proper equipment.

Before you leave the borrowers / ship the docs. Look the package over, make sure the initials/signatures/notarizations are all there, and correct. Take a deep breath, and good luck!

can't ship docs until I hear from TC. I have to fax entire package immediately. However, cancel until tomorrow night....thank you

"Some pages legal others letter and all in between. Having to reset printer each time."

You need a 2nd tray, a better printer, or just print everything on legal. Time is money, look at how much you have expensed for just this one signing. EOM is 4 days away...It'll probably be not any better than what you went through today, especially the printing when you're in a crunch.

Re: you got robbed tonight of your time

yes, you did. Because some lender did not make it happen tonight. IMO, lenders should work on Saturday to pull off the closing they scheduled with the borrower. I think some lenders don't think it is a big deal for the closing not to happen on time. I think it is. The next time the borrowers need something, a home equity, or second, they will be looking to take their business elsewhere. It presents a poor image when the closing doesn't happen as scheduled.

no, she DONATED all that time

Anyone with experience would not have spent hours babysitting the computer and phone lines like she did. We go about our business, whether other appts. or doing laundry or lazing on the couch. We wait for a call that says docs are here and then we go into action. At least that's the way I do it. I don't put time constraints on my clients but docs 10 minutes prior to the appt. happen EVERY day - I'm available but am not giving my time until docs arrive.

Well, the closing was resceduled for tonight.

I still don't understand why everyother page is letter to legal. I do have a place for letter and legal but you still have to change the printer for which pages are legal or letter which took me time, is there any easier way to do this? The lender said most notaries like it better this way. WHY? I prefer all legal. What is up with that&

change the printer for which pages are legal or letter

Check your printer settings.
If you have a dual tray printer, make sure the second tray has been installed, with the correct paper size per tray and be sure to check that paper source is "auto select".
What kind of printer do you have? Maybe someone can help you better if you identified the printer.
