what is up with some of the questions on the test? there are no correct answers to a few of the questions-at least not the way they worded them

I took both tests and yes, there ARE correct

answers - you need to read the questions very carefully...

some of the multiple choice where everything applies and they want to know what doesnt apply or one of the ones where none applies and they want to know which one does

What do you mean both tests? I took only one test and it was ridiculous. Both questions and anwsers were confusing so just keep that in mind for anyone attempting to pass. You're not going crazy....my question is, is there anyone out there who has actually performed one of these assignments......ANYone??? What was your experience, time, travel, fee, etc. Thank you!

There are two companies on board for this so far

you have to test for each company that decides to enlist the NNA for this service.

Linda - have you actually been assigned a job yet? And so I understand the whole process, you take the initial TEA test through the NN*, you pass and your name is entered into a database whereby XYZ companies contracted with NN* find TEAs and contact them directly to take their own internal TEA tests??

Re: Is the TEA even worth it?

My question is: Is it even worth it to take this test? I think the NNA is a rip-off, and I've searched the threads on this topic. So far I haven't seen any posts come in saying, "Oh, the test is great! I took it and I've been getting SO MUCH more business! Thank you, NNA for this valuable and lucrative certification!"

Re: Is the TEA even worth it?

In my opinion the NNA has done more harm to the “Signing Agent” business than the sub-prime melt down, and the entire slowing in the mortgage industry. If you are a “Signing Agent Mobile Notary”, and you do anything to contribute to their continuing existence, you are just hurting yourself, and others in this business. They are NOT looking out for you!

In a nutshell...no..so far not worth it..

Thankfully it was free (had my BGC through them 10/06 only because I've never had one done)....have tested for two companies and passed - have not received a call yet....and I'm well aware that I won't be eligible to get assignments from them once my BGC expires in October because I won't be having it done again (I was cleared then and nothing's changed) ... not one signing company or title company has requested that BGC yet so I see no need.

The tests are tricky - it's basically pick the best answer - and one part of one of the tutorials actually had a chapter on how to fold the pre-printed airbill you get and put it in the pouch for the FedEx package (wonder why THAT had to be taught)...

They seem to have a grip on this - companies requiring this service contact them and they contact the TEA from their list of approved agents - they're acting as a SS, so to speak - anyone who's passed the tests MUST go through them - you can't market this service on your own. I don't like that part of it and it's in their written agreement.

Summary - I did it cuz it was available to me and it's free - will I renew just for this listing? No...Will I have the BGC done again just for this? No.. I don't hold much hope for this part of my business going anywhere.
