What are you talking about?
I can only see about 200 miles today .....
Fall and Spring ... two best times of year in High Desert. You must have quite a view up there on the Mountain

Only when it's cold is it fabulous...
I love cool or cold weather...fresh, crisp, clean air (or so it seems). Easier to warm up, wear 3 pair of socks, 5 sweaters, long underwear, drink a hot cup of cocoa or cider (yummo!) Sit around the fireplace.
Loathe summertime miserable heat, though it's good for a few things...if you have hand washables to hang up and dry, they're dry in an hour. When you wash your car, it dries quicker. That's about it. Oh, going swimming and to the beach.
Two years ago, the transformer blew out on the pole and we were without power for two days in August. HAD to go to a hotel for a night. Impossible to sleep in 95 degree heat indoors with no outside breeze coming in.

True!
I can see you did not grow up prior to AC - add lots of humidity and you just don't sleep indoors during the summer if you can help it. I don't miss those days at all.

Re: Only when it's cold is it fabulous...
I grew up without AC in California but once I got spoiled by it as an adult, I was ruined !! I spent 2 summers in Arkansas when I was a kid but I guess that doesn't count because when I was 10 and out playing all day, I didn't think about heat, humidity or "skeeters". I was in Virginia two summers ago and the humidity was so thick I could cut it....but suprisingly there were no skeeters (thank goodness) attacking like I thought there would be.

Cold is Fabulous!
This is something my hubby and I "argue" about. He thinks it's fabulous at 105! However, he has learned NOT to say so in my hearing (or hitting) range.
