$80 edoc plus full pkg faxback - right

I nearly chocked on my coffee at that. I declined and quoted my fee of $xxx.xx; got the usual "Oh we can't do that, our fee is $80". Don't waste my time and I wasn't in the mood for a good joke anyway. - They called back.

Lender's First Choice. Called back and met my fee mentioning that it was a Countrywide with faxbacks. OK, they are usually close to 40 pages of faxbacks but the confirmation said to faxback ALL pages of the loan package - 80+ pages! I called for verification on this and was told that they surveyed their notaries and the concensus was that it was easier to fax the entire package rather than sifting and pulling out the 30-40 pages to faxback. In all my years I have never had to faxback the entire package! And, from the posts in this fourm faxbacks are sure not a favorite of most here either, just due to the time and waiting for approval to send the docs, this delays 'my' closing of the assignment (my paperwork) until I can ship.

Actually just venting here but I find thier expectaion of all that work and time to be an insult to a professional. They called me back because they couldn't find an $80 sucker out there. STAND FIRM!!

They're joking, right? In whose right mind is it easier to fax 90-125 pages than it is to fax 30-40 (which to me is ridiculous in and of itself!) ...their "survey" sounds like a crock to me..JMHO

Scan back service

Is much easier, and doesn't suck up the phone line time.
Takes me all of less than 5 minutes.

True, Misty...but in my situation here

if it's required then I have to bring the package home....creating another 30 mile round trip to drop the original package...and an additional fee for the scan back service - you think they're going to agree to pay additional for that? I don't...MHO

Re: True, Misty...but in my situation here

That is another down-side to working with agencies.
With TC's, (unless it is a same-day funding situation), they would rather you drop the package for next morning delivery.
My TC fee is all-inclusive, so I don't have to worry about haggling for additional fees.
When I worked with agencies, I have always advised them that I could either:

A) scan the docs today, and ship tomorrow
B) ship the docs today, for delivery tomorrow and forgo the scan back of docs

Like you, I am in a fairly rural area of Florida. I have to let them know upfront that I can't drop docs after ?? PM and get next day delivery.

Re: True, Misty...but in my situation here

I always scan- fax backs. I have efax...pay per page- no way am I going to "eat" the cost of faxing back 40 pages. But- I have a Fed Ex hub and UPS hub and drop boxes within 3 miles...so I dont have to worry about driving so far to drop.

Fax back are a bunch of crap.....and I really dont accept assignments with them- the companies that require fax backs are low ballers- historically speaking. The last time I did a fax back - I got the go ahead to drop; and 2 days latter CountryWide did not like how a date looked on a doc. The SS called me back and THOUGHT that I was going to jump in my car and race over for a date on a doc. First and foremost this doc was approved as part of the fax backs....and second.....I reminded them that was what the 3-5 Corrections Agreements were for. Nevertheless.....I have never heard from then again- when I said NO!!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention this was about 40 miles 1 way to the signing; and the only reason that I had accepted was b/c I had personal things going on the same area. They did pay me....b/c the email I returned to them with proof that this docs was part of the faxbacks b/c I had scanned it-----clearly stated that I will be paid for the assignment or they will face legal action. BTW- the date looked just the SAME as every other date. I called the borrower and no one ever came out to her house and had her resign anything.....I really dont know what was going on...but I was not their sucker of the day!!!

Having scanned and saved to my documents- proved my point right back in thier face!!! Forget all of these fools!!!!!!!!!! I know times are tough....but why put up with this crap??? Just say NO!!!

CF---efax...pay per page

Why waste that money paying efax when you can scan and send them to email for free?
Most companies will give you the QC clerk's email, rather than have their fax machine backed up.
Something for you to consider.

Re: CF---efax...pay per page

I do-that is what I meant by "I always scan- fax backs"....I would never pay....all title companies and the, very few, SS I work with let me scan and email the faxbacks. Actually, most people have said that they perfer it over a fax b/c I scan them to PDF...and they say it is much more clear than some faxes.

Sorry if I was not clear....OMG efax would cost like $3.00-$5.00 per fax back if I faxed them. I went on my CW rant....so maybe I was not understandable.

Re: True, Misty...but in my situation here

That is an option sometimes, but I only have a flatbed scanner so that doesn't help.
