faxbacks

I am looking to save money. Paying for a landline for faxing . I wonder if there is another way of doing this. Do any of you scan docs and email them? Are there companies out there accepting this?

I wouldn't count on all companies accepting scanned and emailed docs. And what if your cable or DSL goes out for a day or two?

There are other ways to save money, paying less than $25 a month for a landline (assuming you use it for nothing other than faxing) is pretty much a necessity in this business.

I scan and then fax or e-mail.

I use a company called MyFax.

Good luck

I scan then email or fax. I use a fax program called RKS.

I have a MaxEmail plan that gives me something like 200 incoming faxes per month (I've never even come close to going over that limit) and it costs $24 per year (plus a one-time $10 set-up fee). The area code for the fax # is not local to my area, but for what works out to $2 per month I think that's a great deal. I use my regular phone land line that I already pay for when I need to fax something out.

I get fax service thru my phone company. The charge is $1.75 a month for an enhanced ring, meaning that I have a seperate fax # but it rings thru my phone. It rings 3 times in succession so I know it's a fax and just let it ring. When my answering machine picks up it automatically goes to my fax. Great service and I love it.

I scan and email- all faxbacks

I have not had a land line phone in 6 years. I have been doing this for 4.5 years. I use efax and will fax invoices and confirmations back with efax. However, when it comes to 30-40 pages I alwasy scan and email. Most compaines perfer (scan/email) over the fax- they say the quality if better.

I have also told companies that I will not fax back- if they wont accept an email.

Re: I scan and email- all faxbacks

I'd love to ditch my landline.
I only use it for fax and Qwest charges us $34/month for a single line. Before moving up here nearly 10 years ago from San Diego I was paying $24 for two lines.

I only have a flatbed scanner so faxing back 40 pages is just crazy. My scanning program will put them all in one file, but still, one page at a time is not going to work. Until I can really justify getting a multi-sheet scanner I'm stuck. - I hate faxbacks no matter what!

I told the SS yesterday that if I take the time to fax back the requested pages, it would stop me from dropping for next day delivery. The fax backs on Thursday would sometime put docs to them on Monday. They agreed to let me drop instead of faxing back. I hate faxing back! They trusted me to get it right.

I use vonage for my home phone so what I did was get another line for 10.00 bucks a month and hook my fax machine to it. I can fax right from my fax and goes out without problems.

I looked at internet faxes but I only have a flatbed scanner and it would take a lot of time to scan files to fax them so I choose to go this way.

I have unlimited long distance on my home phone as we have family all over the country....my fax is hooked into my home fphone and for the limited number of faxbacks I have this works fine for me.

I also use Vonage, it is $ 10.00 extra a month and it's unlimited. It's been great. Especially when you have companies that want several faxbacks. Plus with the unlimited long distance you can't beat it, for 43.00 a month I can call and fax as much as I need to.

Actually you can beat it. Magicjack works out to $4.00/month

for unlimited calling. Add an extra $2.00/month for maxemail fax service and you have everything covered for 14% a month of what you are paying with vonage.

Hit enter too quick. since I do not have a automatic document feeder on my scanner I would have to scan each page individually and would take more time to scan and then send through max email.

At one time I had just a scanner. and for a time just a fax. Had the idea that if something failed, the only thing going to the shop would be just that. Got rid of an old copier, fax (still got the un-used scanner (flat-bed) ), bought a multi-function and have been delighted ever since. Not only do I have a second printer, but the scanner is either used as flat bed or document feed, not to mention fax. and duplex copying.
