re: Illinois Notary?

I hope that the Illinois notary who took the re-fi for under $75.00 I had scheduled for tomorrow spends the money wisely. Whoever you are you are only hurting yourself and the industry in the long run.

OMG...what losers...

I have absolutely NO RESPECT for notaries who take jobs for less than $75.00...WTF!

Roger is totally right, you are hurting yourself by underpaying yourself, and hurting the rest of us trying to make a decent living. Some us do this for a living, FULL-TIME believe it or not, and there is just no competition with suckers like you practically working for free.

I know I'm not alone when I say that working for $75 is just STUPID...

Tell us, do you use a magic carpet so you don't spend money on gas, and also a magic printer that prints docs out on magic toner that doesn't cost any money to refill or buy?!

IDIOT.

YOU SUCK FOR TAKING A JOB UNDER $75.00 WHO EVER YOU ARE...

I'd hazard a guess and say those low fee notaries do not read this forum and have no idea on what they can charge.

Personally, I don't take jobs for $75.00. As I said in a previous post, you DON'T know a person's situation. Maybe you are sitting there not working and they are "at least" getting $75.00. Maybe they have a few other job's at normal rate. Money is money these days. Possibly they had 1 job @ $100.00-$125.00 and right around the corner was that job they accepted for $75.00. In that case, why not? I just don't like seeing anyone being told they suck, they are a loser. I read this board daily and can't believe the anger of so many people. Devil's advocate I guess. MHO

it really doesn't matter WHAT their situation is...

they will not gain ANYTHING by accepting jobs at $75. As far as them working, yeah, they're working....FOR FREE. If you think about it and add up the costs of gas, paper, toner, and your time, NO ONE breaks even at $75, so how can they pay bills with that pay??

It's not anger but frustration that I share with many in my area and that are on this forum. These notaries excepting fees for $75 AND LESS, know what they are doing, and instead of holding their ground, and sticking to a 'decent fee', they give in. And because of this, they do suck and are loser by thinking of themselves as not worth decent pay!

By accepting assignments at $75 or lower, they are sending a clear message to SS and TC that our job is not as important and that our pay is not worth a decent wage, and that suckers can be BOUGHT for $75 or less.

Be the devil's advocate all you want, when it hits home, you'll be the one &itching and complaining about the same subject in a few months if not weeks.

Cari...I'm curious after reading your profile

I searched your zip and see 82 SA's just on this site alone. With that much competition I'd like to ask you a question and I'm hoping you'll give me figures in response. I looked at your very nice website and of course looked at your fees. I'm amazed at your O/N fee, docs to BO's, $150 PLUS .50/mile over 20 miles RT. Are you actually able to find a client that pays that amount for O/N docs?
