1st Courtesy - Andy

I have called him, emailed him, written to him, and still not even the "courtesy" of a response over a lousy $100.00 that he has owed me since March!!!! Before this signing, he called me for another and I had to return his call. His response? "When you snooze you lose!" - The nerve!!! Aren't we allowed to even go to the bathroom - or should we answer the phone from the john???

Has anybody gotten paid by this "nice guy"? Patti

What nerve? That's the reality of the business, you snooze, you lose. If you don't want to miss jobs then you need to learn how to pinch it off midstream to answer the phone. I've done it, I'm sure many others on here have too.

Pinch it off?

That has to be one of the funniest things I have read in a loooong time....too funny! For what it is worth...I have just gotten the nerve to answer my phone when at signings. I have lost many jobs as a result of not answering my phone because I set it down for a moment or have turned it off during a signing. I have finally been convinced to keep it on and to ANSWER IT...this is my mainstay...my job, and my responsibility to myself and my business to do so. I guess that I, too...will pinch it off midstream in order to conduct my business. I have found that at times, my phone won't ring for nearly half a day...and the one time I lay it down, or put it away, it never fails to ring! So, now my phone is a permanent fixture to my side.

Re: Pinch it off? Sooooo funny!

In the shower, under my pillow, in my pocket - all my clothes have pockets...every ring gets answered because if I leave it elsewhere, it will ring and be something I will miss. I have learned.

However, in this case....even if you answered and got the signing you still "lose".

I have the same problem Andy too. I just wish he would answer the phone and let us know what's the scoop. He may loose something good too if he doesn't answer his phone. Life s tuff for every one and it wont get easyer by not dealing with the proublems we make for your self, that only makes them worse.
