BLUE INK/ BLACK INK
Has anyone ever missed the instruction that called for blue ink and had the signing done in black ink? If so, what were the repercussions? Did the title company accept it or did you have to go back out?
HELP!!!

Yes, I've done that. It's never come back on me for a re-do. I try very hard to comply with ink color requests, but sometimes they "hide" that requirement in a myriad of instructions and it can be easy to miss in some instances.

In the few instances I've had that happen I've never had one come back, never even gotten a call on it. I wouldn't worry one second about it.

Most of the time it's not a big deal. Usually those that want Blue, want to be able to tell the difference between the original and copies. I don't think (?) it has much to do with recording. But it should be one of the things you inquire (if not in the instructions) about maybe with TC/LO if need be, otherwise I use Blk.

I try to check the Lender's Instructions to Escrow, or Lender's Closing Instructions. Usually a section that says Execution of Documents or Document Execution, or Signing of Documents, something like that.
If it doesn't mention anything specific, I use blue (except for property in Arizona, which has a County Recorder requirement to use black).
I remember when I was using "black" ink, got 1/2 through the docs, came across the Closing Instructions (before I was reading them), something caught my eye, and I saw that I needed to use blue ink. Great borrowers, docs signed up to then, became their's and they graciously re-signed "their copy" with the right color ink. Since then, I review those "instructions" just in case!

I'd say it's a little late to worry about it....so don't. This varies from company to company...if it comes back (99% it won't) chalk it up to continuing education.

I've had so many requests for blue ink that I just use it as a standard unless the specify black. When I worked for the Feds we were required to never sign in black to prove it was not a photocopy.

I also use blue ink unless black is specified.
