Been getting more overnight closings
I have been getting more overnight closings from most of my clients. I don't care as long as I get my fee. I can't remember getting these many in the past 2 years. What is going on?

Things have slowed down enough so they aren't rushing around. The lenders have time to get the docs out a day or 2 in advance. I'm still getting edocs, but I'm getting them 1 to 2 days before the closing.

I can add that the cost of overnight docs is cheap than e-docs.....and few packages are beingg sent to the borrower itself.

I can't disagree more. I sent 2 sheets of paper (qwd) overnight to a client and it cost me $66.36. Guess how many times I want to do that. BTW, it was UPS

I have both a FedEx, and UPS account that I use infrequently. Where it costs a Title Company $6-$7 to overnight a envelope, it costs me $26-$30. Big companies get a big discount. UPS has also been putting an extra "fuel charge" on packages to rural areas recently.

Good lord Luana what kind of service did you use?
The only service that would cost that much would be the first overnight delivery which for UPS is by 8:am I think. Just out of curiosity you should go to www.UPS.com and get a quote for sending a letter and see what rates you get. By letter I mean a UPS envelope. Keep in mind that if you UPS something overnight in a brown envelope or a UPS pack (tyvek) it is more expensive than the standard O/N UPS envelope so always use the proper UPS (or Fedex) packaging. If you went to a mail store as opposed to a UPS store they might have overcharged you or have a huge mark up on their first O/N service. And it is correct that big companies that are frequent users get HUGE discounts. Their cost is often lower than what a UPS franchise would actually pay. Eveline
