Got my 1st call for field inspection

It was a little further than I would have gone but thinking this could lead to more of this work, okay I say. Get the order. In bold letters, " *MUST GO TO POLICE DEPT. AND HAVE AN OFFICER GO OUT WITH THEM* and futher down says, "Please go to home late since last chase was unable to get to home due to murder in front of home?" exactly verbatum. sigh. Thought this would have been a little extra in my pocket once in a while.

You've Got To Be Making This Stuff Up!

Linda, you're pulling my leg, right? I can just see you now at the police station, "Uh, officer? I was told that I need an escort to this location. Can you help me?" I hope they take you seriously. My heart goes out to you. I hope the pay is decent and I'd love to read about what happens.

Re: You've Got To Be Making This Stuff Up!

Michelle, I am not going. They could offer me a lot of $$, just not worth my life. How non-shalont (sp?) in the work order, "last person unable to get to home due to murder in front of home"! OMG!!!! You can't make this up!

Oh Linda, you didn't look at the upsides of this order. Live a little !!! It's Friday !!! Maybe you would have become a tv star and been on Cops or Dog the Bounty Hunter. Just think what 'interesting' people you may have run into. Think what an education you may have received. Just think what you may have been witness to and then be to participate in the judicial system months down the road. How about a surprise visit to the emergency room - I bet that place is hoppin' on Friday nights !!! This says nothing of the laughter (always good for the soul) you will experience when you ask a policeman to be your personal escort ... perhaps your town has no other crime and they have someone available for this service ... you know, that murder may have been "just one of those things". All this for I'm guessing $15-$20 !!!!!

Yes, Sue, I did think about all the glam and

glitter! I'm still kind of feeling stunned by the mere casuleness the company had. Maybe they need to call Dog! He's the man for the job!

Re: Yes, Sue, I did think about all the glam and

There is such a thing as a "citizen assist" call. Yes, it's low on the priority list but if you have to go to a location to collect something (whether it's business or not) where you believe the person may cause problems or get ugly....you can call the non-emergency police dept. number and request a "citizen's assist". When available, an officer will show up and escort you to the door....their goal is only to "keep the peace" and present an authoritative presence - they do not get involved in the issue. With them standing there, the person who you think will cause trouble - won't, if they do, obviously, they can be arrested on the spot.

Just an FYI for anyone who didn't know. Police are required to keep the peace. Again, if there is no crime to fight at that moment and they are available, they WILL go and assist you.

Wow. I am still in shock that this is real. Not sure what world they live in that this is normal. I am thinking getting financing right now should be the least of their concerns...yikes!

Shouldn't be too hard to find. Look for the yellow tape.

Yikes! I know delinquency interviews are a great business

right now, but how does the company actually expect to fill this order?

Geeze! I think they should be sending out a police officer

or someone who carries a gun, mace, sirens on the car, loud speaker, flood lights, bullet proof vest, at least 3 other large type sumu (sp?) wrestler type people. I wouldn't even go if I had that! And not that I'm a wus, I worked in a police station and was a matron (transporting female prisoners) I just didn't think it was worth the danger and further, if they just schedule this stuff with anyone that will take it, what other situations could you be sent into that they may know and didn't divuldge? I am keeping this order, everytime I read it, I still am shock at what it says!
