Scott Earhart is a deadbeat. I have been trying to get him to pay and he never responds unless you threaten him. He apparently is so used to scamming notaries that he's brazen about it, now.

Here are a couple of e-mails he sent me. Judge for yourself.

Do what you gotta do buddy.

Having done research on you, Lender Services Direct, and Loomis Wealth, it is now clear that this is the way you and your friends do business with everyone. Not only do I intend to move forward with collections, I intend to file a complaint with the Attorneys General of California, Washington, and Illinois.

Good luck. You’ll need it.

David, checks are going out on wendsday. And as for your email you can do what you want but Lender Services and the borrowers have nothing to do with this so a claim wouldn't matter. As for a lien on the property that would never happen. I told you I would pay you and I will with the way the industry is now it takes a little longer for payment. You need to relax and be more patient. If you want to make a claim that's fine and I will just pay them why they take a cut of your money. So please stop threatining me. Thanks David. Call me if you have any questions or problems

Scott, I have now given you four days. You committed to getting back to me in a day or two. If I do not have a tracking number for the overnight shipment of my check by 10 am, I will proceed with collection actions.

On Monday, it is my intention to contact the title company and/or lender about payment. I will advise them that I expect immediate payment, and failure to do that by them will result in collection actions directed against Hart Signings and Lender Services Direct and the borrowers, including, but not limited to a lien placed on the property.

I look forward to receiving the check no later than Tuesday September 9, 2008.

This payment was due 2 months ago. When will I have the payment?

I made the mistake of working for Scott Earhart and Lender Services Direct back in May of 2008. It was for some investment property. The borrowers didn't know where it was. I received a bunch of documents that I was supposed to notarize. None of the information had been filled in. Of course, I don't notarize blank docs. Starla Pressley of Lender Services got real nasty with me, calling me stupid and telling me that I was the only notary that they had ever had problems with. In the end, they did promise to pay. However, several months went by and no payment. After multiple attempts at contacting Scott, he finally replied informing me that the FBI had confiscated all of his equipment. Evidently he was involved in some kind of Ponzi scheme. I contacted the borrowers to find out if Scott was telling me the truth. It was true! Unfortunately, the borrowers lost $100,000 I feel really badly for them. They had taken a loan out against their home. I only lost $100. Initially, my intuition told me that something was terribly wrong, hopefully I will never be faced with something as heinous as this again.
