Has this happened recently to anyone else recently?
I did two closings for a signing company (who has always, until now, been reputable), the first one didn't close because the borrower stated that "this isn't what we agreed on"- I was to get full fee. I then went out with the revised one which did close. This all took place the first part of June. I have been asking the SS when I will be paid. I got - the title company hasn't paid me, when they do, I will pay you. The total agreed amount for both closings was $250 ($125 for each) Well, guess what kind of message I got today from the SS - here it is straight from the e-mail I just received:
Your checks are going in the mail on Monday. The Title Company only paid us $ 50.00 for the loan that recinded 06/06/2008. I can not afford to pay anymore than $ 75.00 for that closing. We will have only made $ 25.00 on this closing ourself. We can not afford to go in the negative I am very sorry. I guess I am supposed to tell my creditors that I can't afford to pay any more either. This is a crock!

Well, you just politely tell SS that they AGREED to pay full fee on both. Their problem in collecting are NOT your problem. Stay on 'em. Hope you got it in writing~~

Yes, I have it and I also have - if you don't do this, you will get a pay reduction, if you don't do that you will get a pay reduction - I did everything I was supposed to do and STILL got a pay reduction.

Please state the name of this company and add them to signing central.

I had a guy (signing service) say the same thing to me and I said that he agreed to pay full fee, regardless. He didn't like it...and I'm sure he'll never call me again...but he paid my full fee.
I have it in the signature block of my email that I get full fee regardless of funding and I make sure new companies read it and agree to it. After he called me that day, I printed it out, wrote him a letter stating he'd agree to pay full fee, and then I faxed both to him.
Bills are bills...and the SS should pay what they owe, regardless of how much they receive. That's the cost of doing business. I agree that you should post the name of this company so that when she calls others, we can say NO to companies that don't have working capital to pay the notaries.

I will do just that if I don't get my full fee.

Whoa!! Are you kidding me?? I really hope you have all of that verbiage in writing too. This is a small claims case if I've ever seen one. Start your demand letters now and call title to verify when and how much SS was paid. Please, please let us know who these folks are, they deserve some bad press after treating you so poorly.
