I have a question....
I know it has been dead, but I am wondering how many appointments some of you are getting a week/month? Even when it had been slow, we were still getting between 50-70 appointments a month. Now, we are lucky to get 1 a week! Is everyone in the same boat or has anybody heard when this will pick up? We are really hurting and wonder if this is worth it anymore. Thanks

Well I am slow for sure. I am lucky to get 2 a week and then pray that they pay me. Hopefully it will pick up in the next few months. People will still be refinancing. Maybe everyone is waiting for the election to be over. Let's all hope for the best. Anyone in Indiana getting TEA jobs yet?

NNA called here trying to encourage us to do TEAs...
They said we could make as much as $30 for the initial enrollment and an extra $10 for every additional signer.
I was very polite about telling her that those rates don't justify a morning's worth of work and that it is very unlikely (I assumed) to have more than one person on the same ticket. That to print out, identify individuals and notarize identity docs and whatever else would be needed is not worth it for MAYBE making $40-$50.
She got quiet, stammered a bit, thanked me and hung up.

I'm fortunate to be staying steady at 25-30 month. My area is not as hard hit as many. I wasn't in this business during the boom. It must be awful to go from that no. to nothing. The mortgage industry meltdown is far from over. I am aware that a lot of notaries are leaving the business. That's sad, because I'm sure there are a lot of very qualified agents that the industry will miss.
