Industry Partner Title, N Y

Nothing posted since 2007 are they still reliable to work for?
Thanks

Depends on your definition of reliability....they called me for a signing for 4/4/08 - it was postponed and postponed and postponed however it involved a QC deed and two of the signers were leaving the state on 4/5/08....they had me go out and get the QC signed by the first two people (third person could not be available then) - when signing was finally scheduled *two weeks later* I wasn't available but still had the original QC deed (they told me to hold on to it) - they sent me back out to get the third signature on the QC deed....

They offered reasonable pay for this split QC deed signing - I went 4/4 and 4/26/08 - got partial payment on 6/2/08 with the balance 6/30/08....seems like a long time to me to wait for a title company to pay. They are nice people but seemed, IMO, very disorganized. Lots of "hurry up and wait" only to get a postponement...not a lot of handholding though and when the loan finally was ready to close they did call me - it's not their fault I wasn't available.

I would work for them again but with the mindset that until I see docs my calendar is still wide open regardless of the confirmation - MHO

You have to invoice them at the end of the month for the

entire month. They will even send an email reminding you to invoice them. No problems.

That's not the way it worked for me, Linda...

no end-of-month invoice...no reminder e-mails...just invoice with package...

I faxed my invoice when I followed up on payment and they asked me to send it to them...

Re: That's not the way it worked for me, Linda...

I just did one for them in June. I faxed my invoice at the end of the month. They e-mailed me as a reminder. I used to do quite a few for them, but it has slowed. The one I did in June was a first in quite a while. I just did what I always had been doing, invoicing at the end of the month. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. lol

I have handled several closings for them and was always paid promptly. I sent my invoice as an attachment to the email advising them that the loan had closed.

I used to title work for them. It would take 3 to 4 months to get paid. The attorney that started doing the work after I quit, had problems getting paid in a timely manner.

I did a few closings for them also, one of the few companies I've worked for that again did not pay me in a timely manner. They would have to at least 10 NSA's that post on here regularly say that they'd been paid within 60 days for me to work for them again.

I agree with Linda regarding billing but

I have not done many for them lately. I used to get several a month and I invoiced at the end of that month. They always sent a check by the 15th of the following month. The only one I did last month they told me to invoice them with every package. The guy that used to do it was John Rakstis but he is no longer there. That might be the reason for the change. In any event, they do schedule some that are not ready yet but they are so flexible with notaries times that I will work for them any time.

Sad to hear that John is no longer there. He was great.

Maybe they have changed the way they do things since he is not there. Like I said, I just invoiced at the end of month just like I used to do when I did several a month for them.

Re: Industry Partner Title, N Y (my experience with them)

I've only done one actual job for this company, and that was in July 2007. They hired me for numerous jobs, though but they would then cancel, reschedule, cancel, reschedule, ad nauseum. So, when they rescheduled this particular job for the third time on July 13th, the day I was to have surgery, I said "Okay" because I knew it wouldn't happen anyway.

Well, guess what! The one and only job they hired me for that ever actually took place was on July 13th. And, the docs wound up being edocs....and it was a piggyback signing. I was still somewhat under anesthesia when I was got to my computer, but i got docs printed and my boyfriend had to drive me to the signing and pick me up when I was finished. I warned the guy that I was still somewhat anesthetized, but he was okay with that. I did fine, got the docs signed (although terms were wrong and he almost bailed). But, even though I'd had surgery just 8 hours prior, I got the job done that they'd hired me for.

And, within the week, I emailed them and told them that from now on, each cancel/reschedule would be charged an additional $25. They've not called me since. (ask me if I care....come on...ask me!)
