Infinite Notaries called me back this morning....
I told them I wouldn't do their signing because of slow or no pay. She said that the title company doesn't pay them for 45-60 days. Does that make sense? They need to quit working for that title co. Bad weather out anyway.

Still owes me from 1/3/07
I tried BBB, States Atty, Collections, Certified Letters, no response, no pay

We don't care when THEY get paid
That's not our problem. They contracted our services and need to pay for it. Whether or not they have a cash flow issue is their problem, not ours.

Anyone have a new address for them
The only address I could find is 105 Cliffwood, Canyon Lake Tx 78133. That is the address in SC and on their confirmation. I sent 2 certified letters to that address and both were returned Unclaimed.

That just means they weren't there to accept the letter and
sign for it and didn't go down to the post office to pick it up...did you send the letter regular mail too? Re-send it both certified mail, return receipt request, AND regular mail....if the regular mail one doesn't come back you have a good address. LDC National did that to me - their certified letter was returned unclaimed - but the regular mail one go there.

Yep, Did that
wanted proof that they recieved letter for court. Apparently they know that and choose not to get certifieds. They don't have to go to PO, the PO attempts delivery 3 times and apparently all three times ( 6 times, 2 letters) someone refused to sign for it or no one was there. Hard to believe that on a total of 6 delivery attempts no one was there.

Anyone can refuse to accept/sign for a certified letter. n/m

Yes, Lee, but in that case it's returned "Refused" not
"Unclaimed"...I'd prefer a "Refused" one for court over an "Unclaimed" one - they could be on vacation and not have received the notice....I like the "Delivery Confirmation" method Brenda puts forth below....sweet..

Re: Yep, Did that
The one and only closing I accepted from Infinite Notaries, I had to resort to calling the title co (First Title) in order to get paid. It only took 1 email to title company. You might want to try it. Good luck.

It is a too-common trick ...
... to simply leave the certified mail unclaimed. One _can_ go to the Post Office to see who sent the mail, then tell the clerk that a decision will be made _later_ whether to accept the mail or not. There will be no record that anyone checked! It won't be refused and it won't be accepted. After the expiration period the mail will be returned as "unclaimed", _not_ "refused".

To counter the trick you
Send a letter along with it (identical contents) with a Delivery Confirmation on it.
Can't deny that it was delivered that way. Costs another $4 but definitely worth it.
Then, it shows that the delivery was refused without the person actually "refusing". LOVE it. (Old legal secretary trickery.)

Re: Anyone have a new address for them
That is the correct address. The certified letters were probably unclaimed becuase she wasn't there when delivery was attempted, and then never went to the post office to pick the letters up. Was the title company First Title & Escrow? You might try calling them.

Re: Anyone have a new address for them
I'm not sure how it works with this particular type of problem, but with returned checks in Texas, even if the certified mail is returned "unclaimed", you can file on them. You just have to show that you sent the CF to the last known address. Sic 'em!

Called me too Miranda - wonder who she got in our area to do it? Pity the poor soul trying to collect their fee. I just laughed at Rhonda - told her evidently she had a short memory, I chased her once for 6 months, wasn't interested in doing it again. Hung up.

How are they doing business?? Everytime I call, I get the ans mach. How do they get business if they screen their calls? In this market, you better forget the screen & pick up on the 1st ring!! They must have another # - hmm?!?!?

you are so right EastTx... keep everything that shows you
tried to communicate with them.. At least in CA you are supposed to attempt to resolve the prob before you file

Are you guys speaking of Title First Agency out of Newark, OH? They pay $100 for edocs.
According to my books, there are still 4 open invoices on them; 3 from June and 1 from August. I called today and was told that it would be looked into. The young lady who initially sent me the docs for the last closing said she would give me a call back on it. Thanks for any 'Heads Up'!
