Is Indiana a spousal state?

I have a closing this week for a married woman who lives in IN but works in OH. She has no mortgage but is taking a small loan out on her primary residence in Indiana. There is a mortgage and RTC to sign with this package. I made the lender aware of the fact that she has a spouse but they said they did not think Indiana was a spousal state. Just double checking

Check with the TITLE company. They can review their underwriting manual for the particulars. According to my manual:

The estates of dower and curtesy were abolished in 1953 pursuant to I.C. 29-1-2-11.

Indiana is not a community property state.

I.C. 29-1-2-3.1 provides that a married man may deed or mortgage his real estate without the joinder of his wife.

I.C. 31-11-7-2 provides that a married woman has the same rights as an unmarried woman concerning the conveyance of real property.
