Is Signing Central fee based?
I have a very prompt SS with great fees & service to give accolades to, but Signing Central stops short at asking if I want to sponsor (?). When I tried again later, the response was that the info was already inputed into the system. I still can't find them though. So, that leads me to think it is fee based and maybe the SS just doesn't want to go that route.

OH , please tell us Nomad
Then you can be bashed like the others for advertising a good SS.
Wait, then you would be telling everyone about a good company to work for, no can do that of course.
I guess you can't win no matter what Nomad.

I'm not sure if I'm right, but this is what I *think* is going on. A Signing Service is often times run by someone who is also a notary and does his/her own local loan signings. They have a listing on NotRot for their service. When another notary works for said SS, they try to input the SS info into Signing Central, however since that SS already has a private listing, NotRot flags the listing for review and does not post it in Signing Central until they can take a look at the listing and determine what to do with it (either leave it as a private listing or code it as a SS listing so it shows up in Signing Central).

And then convert the private listing to a company listing and charge them as such?? Works for me - keep the SS's from evading the fees they should be charged as a service as opposed to a notary. MHO

I don't think NotRot charges anything for company listings. I could be wrong, but that's what I found when I clicked the link on the home page for joining NotRot as an SS or TC.

Not fee based...
The last time this happened to me I emailed NotRot and their explanation was they only list the companies in the states that they do business in. Further, if I told NotRot that they did business in my state, then they would list them and I could rate them. Sounds weird, but the next time I tried, I was able to rate that co.

Re: Not fee based...
It seems like it would be more logical for NotRot to list the SS or TC without regard to what state it is *thought* they only do business in. Reason being, they could expand into other states at any time, or they could have a borrower located in one state while the property is in another state where they do most of their business, or it just plain makes less work for everyone if the info is available the first time, without having to follow up with e-mails and extra steps to make the listing visible for the notaries who need to see the info.

Okay then, out of curiosity, can anyone pull up
Mortgage Signers in Claremont, CA?
Several months ago I called NotRot and spoke to an individual who said they were extremely busy with various tasks and updating SC was on the list. This was February however, and I had hoped to see it by now.
