Lenders First Choice-ART-Payment Received
In message #258268 I posted: "I guess Maryland is different as far as what bank LFC uses. Just received a check today from LFC drawn on Wachovia Bank. It states it is from their Maryland Trust Account. Going Monday to Wachovia and see if it's any good. Not going to take the chance and run it through my bank."
I went to Wachovia Bank this morning and cashed the check. It had sufficient funds. Only problem was Wachovia charges $5 to cash a check drawn on them if you don't have an account with them. At least I got paid minus the $5.

ART-Payment Received (Negrete's Notary Service Inc. )
We also recvd some checks today from ART .
The ones that I deposited on Friday have so far been OK.
Hopefully this is going to be a trend with there checks.
I may only be out a little bit instead of the whole amount I stated I was worried about being out.

Tony..all due respect...but why do you have your company's name in the "subject" line?? You have it as your signature...why the subject line? A bit of overkill IMO..

But why advertise to your virtual workforce???
It makes little sense to me to have Signing Services advertising here on this site. It may make them feel like they are accomplishing something but in reality they would be far better off advertising to those companies who actually employ Signing Services. The best way to get good will from your workforce is to pay them well, pay them on time and not jerk them around with unnecessary requirements (I'm not talking about Tony here). I realize that many SS have no management skills but empowering your workforce is the best way to develop a quality, loyal workforce that produces consistently excellent work! Micromanagement fails every time. Just venting about SS in general and those who advertise here specifically.

I also received checks from ART the end of last week, and there was no problem with them at the bank. These checks were, of course, written from "trust accounts", where funding is handled when the loan disburses. This was consistent with what I had been told when I called ART in Rocklin, CA. They had told me that anything in the "pipeline" would be paid. Too bad the rumor mill didn't stick to the facts.

The majority of the posts in that thread stated that "deposits were made", "keeping fingers crossed", etc, etc. That is why I went directly to the bank the check was drawn on. I just thought I would post that I was able to, definately, have my check cashed.

hence the wording "pretty constitent".
I would have done the same had there been a nearby branch. But I felt secure with my contacts and the informaton they gave me to go ahead and make the deposit. However, you never know, whats there today can be gone tomorrow. Oh that sounds all to famaliar. Just gotta CYA!

The facts I reported are not rumor.
Whose rumors are you referring to?

Re: **Too bad the rumor mill didn't stick to the facts.**
I made a general statement & it doesn't refer to any one post. Anyone who needs to make it personal, that's not my problem. It wasn't directed at anyone in particular. If someone is looking for a reason to pick a fight, they will find one. I only bothered to post that I received payment (didn't need to do that) to provide some assurance. Geeez!

I don't blame you for going to Wachovia and cashing the check - $5 bucks is worth it to know you have your money.
On July 25th I deposited an LFC check (ART signing) drawn on a Virginia Trust Account with Comerica Bank. There are no Comerica Banks here in Virginia. But in any case, I deposited my check right before the first report of a bounced check, so I was unaware at that time that there may be a problem. I have been checking my account daily, and my bank tells me that if it hasn't bounced back after 5 business days, then I am probably OK. Last Friday was the 5th business day so I am 95% confident that I am in the clear.
I really feel for those of you holding bounced checks. I wonder why some LFC accounts are fine and some aren't?

Bit snide don't you think? I have never worked for you, but
since you come on here bashing - as a SS yet! - and you talk about us so openly here, how do you think that I perceive you? Do I understand that if you will say that openly about another, that I will be exempt from your negative comments if the chance arises?
Your true colors are brightly shining today Tony Negrete...yes, that is sarcasm, and truth without beauty.

And how is it different for us to talk about you in any way?
Because this web site's forum is for NOTARIES to share info with each other and visitors are just that: visitors.

Talk about me anyway you want Julianne.
I do a good job as a notary service and I think most posters here know that.
If you don't like me as a SS thats your problem, don't work for me IF I call you.
Brenda knows me very well and knew exactly what I was talking about.
Oh ya, I will never be considered a VISITOR here, and if I am well thats to bad too Julianne.
Ya, one more thing, have a nice day.

Question (and warning) about LFC payments received
IF..and I stress if...you have received payment from LFC (or any other company that has closed their doors) you all may want to hold onto it for a bit - if I'm not mistaken, if the company files BK there may be a callback period - a period of time prior to the BK filing during which any payments made MAY be called back to prevent that paid entity being considered a "preferred creditor"..
I'm not a BK expert but seem to recall something along those lines from "back in the day" and from reading other posts here and elsewhere...BK people please correct me if I'm wrong...

Re: Question (and warning) about LFC payments received
If the check is coming from operating account, yes, subject to call back. I the check is from Trust acct, that is the purpose of the trust account - in and out, for disbursements on Re transactions for example. MO: trust ok; Escrow acct. ok as they would be returning monies that they are holding for when needed. either of these accts. is money they do not 'own', for want of a better word.
