That is ridiculous, especially for a purchase
No wonder I've never worked for this company. I charge more than that for a refi w/edocs.

I do not understand why you are complaining about $70.00 for a purchase. These closings are easier then a refi, plus NotaryPro is one of the only signing services that are paying on time, let alone still in business. I would take a $70.00 closing as opposed to a $100.00 and not guaranteed to be paid for the closing. Plus it was just the buyer side. Maybe it's different in your state but I can whip out a purchase in no time.
The joke's to me are all the deadbeat SS's and TC's calling me offering a dream fee. Guess what... that's just what it is a dream. A nice juicy 135 for a purchase.. I can taste it.. But wait 1 month goes by now 2 then 3. No fat check. It ends up the taste was just the blood squeezing out of my tongue. (you know you love the imagery) Thank goodness I didn't hold my breath. (I'll paint that picture another day)
I have been screwed by to many non paying companies this year. Even some of my best clients 2 years ago owe me money. I have gone through all the collection channels and still I have had to cut my losses. So please call me NotaryPro and the rest of the lowballer's because you pay me on time every time and at this point I'll even cut you a deal. $5 less then your base pay! (Well maybe not)
This one is for the rest of the notaries in the highly competitive areas of CA who are hungry for work. You may not post these thoughts but we speak and I know your with me. Keep on signing loves.
Sorry CF didn't mean any harm to you but right now I'll take anything.

Re: SIGN THIS: Notary Pro- $70 purchase- You do it!!!
You are part of the problem! You must be pretty desperate to be cutting the lowballers by $5- Things are slower around here, but I still need to make the same amount of money, so cutting fees is not an option. You must think that any work is better than no work? Are you for real? I am not hungry for cheap SS to call me. I would rather starve.

SignThis..if you don't understand the complaints
then you don't understand the business....yes, I too feel purchases aren't much more complicated than refi's - at least the ones I've done haven't been.....but $70?- that's outrageous...as is your claim that $70 is a fair fee to do an entire loan package...at least your fellow CA notaries know who one of their lowballers is....JMHO

What's next for you? In car appointments for $25 a pop?
Seriously, do you have any self worth? If you are begging for a $70 edoc signing you would be better served by taking on a $10 an hour overnight shift leaving your days and evenings open for real money gigs. Why is it the desperate seem intent on bringing down the entire profession? I know you need to do what is right for your business, but have you ever considered the damage that your actions (and others) are doing to this profession as a whole?
There are many, MANY options and ways to make decent money without accepting crap fees. If you have resorted to accepting less than low fees to stay in this game, I implore you and I encourage you to get the he!! out before you and others lower the standards even further. You are doing yourself and your colleagues no favors...do the math.

Are you willing to be a whore?

Becca, I know women in Oakland who do in-car for $25...
but they aren't notaries, don't need a license and work for an SS-like business partner

Re: Yep, Linda. A plant or sock pupet to make $90 look good.
I think y'all are right on..... It's.....very elementary, but hey, look at the mentality displayed by some SS's here lately.
It's very annoying... but the upside, TC's that visit this site know what SS's not to call. I know I have seen 2-3 I would not call. But then again, I only contact NP's directly. I take the time, it's worth it!

That remark tells me all I need to know. You, my dear, are not worth $70.
Whip out a purchase?.... whip it out?
I can't taste it, but I sure smell it!

There is a very simple answer to non-paying clients. It is called a law suit...very effective tool. You just have to have the guts to use it. The non-paying clients are gambling that you will not take it that far.

PSS offered $90, but you had to make 2 copy packages
1 for each borrower. I'm not even sure what their no sign fee is anymore. I turned them down.

How is a purchase eaiser than a refi? I have yet to have
one of these!!!! Last minute issues with the HUD- buyers late b/c they are getting a cashiers check- waiting for a last minute walk through- realtors late- LO's late-not having the funds due .....the list goes on and on. Really - this is not the point- the point is that a person that would readily accept a $70 purchase - should not be in this business. You would be better off working for $8.00 some where! Just my opinion....and I agree with what everyone else said. All the other parties to the transaction are making $$$$$ thousands of dollars- why should the notary- the person that makes it possible for all the other people to get paid get screwed? If times are that bad for you consider geting a job or start another business. Good luck!!!!!

Hey!! Come on everyone...
This HAS GOT TO BE another SS having someone post, or posting themselves. When will these MORON SS realize that most of us with any kind of time in this business know how to run OUR business in a way that makes a profit, and $70 bucks just doesn't cut it! Peddle this crap somewhere else.God, I miss the newbie posts,Tinkie, and even Jack Tri.....

Not a good company to do business with.. Very slow to pay after several requests, then changes agreeded fee... They said they made a mistake.. If I make a mistake they deduct it from my fee.. If they make a mistake they still deduct it from my fee.... Ask to be removed from their list..

Just a FYI. I have attempted to get paid for an invoice from the beginning of January. Have made several phone calls an have spoken to the same person every time, only to be lied to that funds have been disbursed or will be disbursed. Also, several mail notifications have been sent with the last being an 'ultimatum' of pay or be turned over to debt collective services.
