Opinion on monitor brands
I need to order a new monitor for my computer here at work - anyone have any opinions on the following brands? I'm looking at going with Tiger Direct.
Viewsonic Acer Optiquest or Planar
Any other suggestions would be appreciated - he doesn't want to spend a fortune.

I've been very satisfied with our Viewsonic and Acer LCD monitors. When I was looking (about 3 years ago), I wasn't too impressed with Planar. Don't know anything about Optiquest.

Viewsonic makes a wide range of monitors. I've had a
Viewsonic CRT on one of the older computers for about 12 years with no problems. Had a NEC LCD monitor that lasted about two years and replaced it with a Samsung SyncMaster with no problems for the last five months.

I am very happy with my Viewsonic and would get another if this one dies... I've never been thrilled with Tiger Direct however, so if you can find another source of supply you might be better off. Sometimes cheap is not the smartest way to go...

I have a MAG Innovision, which came from
Best Buy. It came very reasonably priced and has given many years of service, as for "BEST BUY" you'll have to make your own decision about that.

You'll have better results and prices if you try www.3Btech.net. Had wonderful results with them and they stand behind their products. Can't say my experience was the same with Tiger Direct. Also, Best Buy quite often has unadvertised manager specials in their stores, I picked up an Envision 22" LCD wide screen for $149.00 last year.
